This is an amazingly well-built, smooth miter saw. I had one and gave it to friend when moving cross country. Replaced it with a Dewalt 780 that was on sale, but the Dewalt is not nearly the same build quality. For example, the Dewalt has a strong kickback when starting and stopping, whereas the Bosch's is not nearly as noticeable. Bosch has way less plastic in the build, and the moving parts (fences and saw slide) are much smoother on the Bosch.

Yeah, I'm waiting for the 10" to go on a decent sale to pick one up.

A couple of years back I bought a router table with router lift from this dude on Craigslist. I was loading it up and then the dude just offered to sell me this saw plus a bora portacube miter saw stand for an additional $200 after I asked how it worked and told him I always wanted one.

It really is an amazing saw. The cut clearance is fantastic for a zero rear clearance saw. Super smooth. I always see people trashing it because they assume it has a ton of deflection, but nobody else I know that owns one ever thinks that's a problem. I get the idea the Delta Cruzer is a pretty bad knockoff and people equate poor experiences with that saw to this one for the similar design. Or they just hate it because the design is a little different thus it must flawed. I do think it's a little ridiculous bosch hasn't added a shadowline to it from the factory yet, for a $700 saw it should bare minimum come with a laser. It's not too tricky to retrofit a shadowline but it's kind of annoying having a second plug and wires.

I was very interested in this saw recently and could maybe forgive the terrible dust collection (due to modding fix) but saw lots of reviews with busted aluminum casting. No idea if they've addressed that issue so I'm looking at other models.

Yeah lack of shadow line on Bosch was a main reason for me to buy Dewalt 780 instead recently. Upgrading my entire house baseboards from 3 1/2 inch to 5 1/2 and i really appreciate having shadow line. It makes it so much easier to use. Quick and precise vertical cuts.

There is an easy fix/addon for the shadow line. You buy a 3d printed part that attaches to the upper blade guard. Then buy an recharagable led that attaches to this part. Easy to take led off to charge when needed. No wires needed.

They also have aftermarket dust collection, as all saws have poor dust collection. Just waiting for this to go on sale again, will pick it up.

Just bought the saw. What dust collection are you looking at?

I got the Shop Nation for my Dewalt 780 and found that it was pretty much a waste of $55. I still have sawdust all over the place.
