I bought them, for PC use, and returned them. I found them to be muddy and boxy.

It depends on the DAC. I first used the USB-C audio adapter that came with a Google Pixel phone to connect my Mac Mini and the MR3, and they did sound muddy. I switched to a FiiO KA11 and they now sound a lot better. I don't have the R1280T, but compared to my Airpulse A80, the MR3 sounds pretty good for the price. I use them on tilted desktop speaker stands.

These are probably better, but a little more expensive.

I'm not a music recording expert but 3.5" drivers? Just because someone calls them studio monitors doesn't mean they are actually studio monitors. Good luck hearing reasonable bass notes with these little guys. It is cute though. That's a plus.

I bought these at this price and promptly returned them. The reviews must be staged because I thought they sounded pretty terrible for the size. Muddy overall, zero bass, even with the knob cranked. My old Logitech's sounded way better.

Bought these they sound pretty good, probably could use a sub if you're looking for more bass response. Review by Erin's audio corner is pretty informative. I'm not affiliated. I'm using the RCA to 3.5mm into my PC. I was replacing 15 year old Logitech speakers.

I purchased these feb.6 they sound great. good bass, decent mids and decent highs plus they're very loud. They're meant for a small to medium room say 150sq ft to around 400sq ft.

You can ignore the knucklehead audiophiles in the comment sections. if a speaker doesn't cost above $1000 then they're automatically trash. nobody taught these knuckle draggers that you're supposed to think with your brain instead of your ego. Also they should have their hearing checked out because most of them are deaf from blasting bass through they're thick skulls.

believe it or not, but with modern technology developed in the 1920's you can change the sound of speaker. it's called an equalizer. I've got these speaker connected to my pc and i've ran them through the on board EQ which is what you're supposed to do unless you're an imbecile like the people saying these speakers sound muddy. Out of the box they do, that's why they have a treble and bass knob in the back so you can adjust the sound.

through bluetooth these speakers aren't very loud, you'll get about half the output of using an analog signal. Audio Through USB-C to 3.5mm jack will also give you about half the volume. If you want the best sound then you're gonna have to have an analog to RCA connection which is included in the package.

If you watch youtube video's on these speakers you'll get the real information. These speakers are flat so they mimic monitors. If you want to use them for music or TV then you EQ Them which is easy since edifier has an APP that lets you do that. Go get some headphones and go to youtube to hear audio demonstration of these speakers they sound great.

They're not meant for Parties or for DJ work. They're meant for small rooms, playing video games and listening to music in the back ground while you study or do house work. these wouldn't work too good in open environments like garage's or patio's. for that you Need loudness and larger speakers. maybe 5 to 6 inches.

With the money you save buying these speakers at $100 you can also buy a decent $200 sub woofer and really get a great sound. that's the main comment made on the youtube video's and they're correct.

I hope i didn't trigger you "audiophiles" too bad. I wish you the best of time listening to your LP records on $5000 speakers all alone in your incel cave.

If your had a sub, you could keep using it. (I did on my studio speakers) toslink to my desktop and 3 5mm to sub. Banana to play the sound and EQ and to crossover

Appreciate the comments around muddiness, that's interesting. But for those complaining about bass, these must be your first studios at this size? These are 3.5" drivers, so not sure what you're expecting here.
