I ported a phone # to Metro last week, activated and had problems with incoming calls, called Metro support and they fixed it, after they fixed it, the agent offered me the tablet for $20, so I was able to get the tablet the day I activated my phone, no need to wait 30 days.

This tablet is underpowered with only 4GB RAM. However, I installed a bunch of emulators on it. They are RetroArch, PPSSPP, Redream, Dolphin, Citra MMJ, Duckstation, AetherSX2, Vita3K, M64Plus FZ, MelonDS and Yuzu.

RetoArch from the Playstore is a very old version. Get it from the RetroArch website.
Yuzu can play some of the lightweight Switch games.
RetroArch can run thousands of arcade roms including CAVE SHMUPS.
Get the Citra MMJ version.

Now this is what I'm talking about, an old school slick deal full of information about how to get the most out of it and making a detailed case for itself. Bravo.

i just placed the order for moto g stylus 2025. So far i don't see any account was created, login would require phone number. I guess i have to wait until phone is shipped or even phone is received and activated. No way to jump onto this samsung tab s9+ deal at this moment...i am not considered as an existing user...
Correct when I did $20.tablet last year they didn't let me place order until phone line was activated.

What is the network lock situation on these?

I got it for $20 not long time ago.
When I called to cancel service, they said I can't cancel before 60 days. So basically I had to keep the service running for 2 months. It's a slow tablet, works for light stuff.
next time just port the number out (it won't be free, but you can find a service that doesn't cost as much as a second month)

will they work on another carrier or are they locked?
It works on T-Mobile. I never activated the metro plan I got with the tablet, about a year ago. Just used a T-Mobile SIM.

It's a horrible tablet. Crashes like crazy
Counterpoint, I have 3 of these in constant use and none of them have ever crashed.

These tablets are far from top of the line, but for lower powered tasks they're great. They can play videos or Youtube with no problem. They work great as comics readers. They handle 8 and 16 bit video game emulation perfectly. They make excellent Home Assistant displays. They're cheap, so you don't have to worry about them. If I didn't already have three of them I'd be buying more now.

Just come back from a Metro store. The store staff told me that I have to be with Metro for 30 days. He also said that $20 days plans is go enough and don't have to be $30 (I am not sure if this is correct but this is what he said.)

There's your first problem, you went to the store. You can bypass the 30 day rule by doing online orders and he is running off of old information. It did at one point used to work for $20 dollar tablet plans, but they updated the requirements this year. If you go to the store, you are potentially getting more stuff tacked on that they will charge you for no reason.

I try to order it online and it doesn't work. That is the reason I went to the store.

Is anyone able to get this deal with a new account activated less than 30 days in these few days? I am not able to do it online or at the store.
