I can watch prime and youtube (via browser), read kindle and listen to any audio books I saved in audible. Most sites still work fine, although occasionally some may be a bit slow.
And my old apps still work fine too, all older games I downloaded from amazon and some I sideloaded.
Nowadays I mostly just use it for quick browsing or prime/youtube. The thing that holds up however is the screen -- its screen is better (albeit smaller) than the Samsung here, and on par with my ipad (it is elderly too).
Edit: I wonder if it's due to the setup, as the HDX used a somewhat different OS variation I think? Ex: for prime/audio books I just choose the menu up top. If relying on separate apps, maybe those were disabled for other Fire OS versions? I know for instance things like netflix/hbo apps stopped working for me ages ago.
"Note, you may opt-out of your tablet line service at anytime"
but its never explained how i can do this.
can someone confirm - do i actually need to call and cancel, or manually opt out of the service?? or can i just do nothing and i will never be charged again??

I just got the stylus g phone and it worked fine without activation. I just need it as a WiFi device. I stupidly clicked activate on the email I got and now I have to setup the account. Had I known it was that easy to not activate it I wouldn't have pressed anything

but i dont think i turned on autopay. so if i just carry on, both the phone and tablet will just cease service and ill be good to go?

What is the exact model #? Is there some talk about this model at XDA?
I bought and activated a Moto G stylus phone yesterday? I need that unlimited data for a month.
Should I get this $30 tablet as a bonus? or, it's a waste of money?

use canta+shizuku to debloat a bit (carefully remove the bloatware from metro), use 3 button navigation, turn off ram plus, get good guardians app from samsung store and download the ram assistant, set to your preference.
thats about all you can do, this will run like shit regardless. its barely good as a media device and struggles to play high bitrate 4k video somehow. maybe best suited as a kiosk device, single application kinda thing. like a home assistant display. i think the issue here is the software only, the hardware is good enough to run decent. heck the amazon fire tablets run smoother then this at stock with less ram, slower ram and a worse chip.
The bootloader of U | U1 | W models can NOT be unlocked.
can't get the "Enable OEM Unlocking" option to appear on the device. "USB debugging", Auto Blocker are also not showing.
After 365 days, will the metro unlock the bootloader or the SIM lock alone?
My Moto Stylus 2023 was also from Metro, its SIM was unlocked after 180 days, and bootloaders was unlocked at Lenovo websites.

There is also another thing to keep an eye on, the bootloader revision number. You are able to flash the device to an older version of oneui, but if the device updates to a revision with a higher value (1-9-A-Z) than the previous oneui version, you can downgrade.
This is the page for this device- https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-X218U/TMK
My device shipped with oneui7, with the bit rev. 8
Meaning it was already higher then rev. 6 ; so no matter what, I cannot downgrade the device to use oneui6.1 (android 14)
If I update the device to rev. 9, I will be able to update until oneui8, while still retaining the ability to go back to oneui7.
But If I keep pressing update after getting oneui8, I will be updated past rev. 9, and will forever be stuck on oneui 8 or newer
There is some talk about this device getting oneui 8.5 as it's final major software update. Usually, after Samsung gives the final update, they will increase the bootloader the next security update, forever locking the device to it's final software.
