Pretty much, if something should happen that they deem appropriate to fix (and there are exclusions), then you have to take the tool to an "authorized service center". Usually they're a tool repair shop that's been blessed by the Ridgid powers that be. Sometimes that repair shop is a shifty, slimy two-bit business that'll take forever and not a good job. So then you have to argue with Ridgid the tool wasn't fixed right.
And if you're not near one of those "authorized disrepair centers"? Too bad. Drive to them. Many won't accept mail-in repairs...and for those that do, you'll be paying far more than the value of a replacement when you factor in shipping (or fuel + time if you drive).
(A "warranty" is a legal term that has very specific legal meanings, especially depending on where you are located.)

Yes it is STILL the case that batteries bundled also get a Ridgid Lifetime Service Agreement (LSA).
But batteries themselves (not in a bundle) NOW also can be LSA.

This means that you can ship tools (and batteries*) to them.
Ridgid will cover the shipping, you will have to box up the item and put on a shipping label on it (and will have to drop it off to a UPS of FedEx).
But you HAVE to register the items and register the replacement items (if they send you a replacement) for this to happen.
* Batteries for me are weird. Sometimes they will have you to ship the battery to them and other times they will just send you a replacement and tell you to recycle the bad battery.

YMMV, I guess. I have to bring tools to a local repair shop that is not depot. I can otherwise pay to ship them to TTI. The local shop is over an hour each way for me.
