I spent almost 4 years with the tsr-700 until I finally said the HDMI issue was enough. Great sound. Loved the interface, but no amount of update will fix the HDMI issues this thing had. My nvdia shield was bipolar with it. Went and side graded to a denon s760 and never had an issue. I wanted to love this unit...

Yes. After reading the specs, I would say that you shouldn't have any problem running two zones.

This is a great receiver and a great price. On the other hand...
Yamaha does not make it easy to clarify/confirm, but I believe this model still uses chroma subsampling to accomodate the higher bandwidth use cases beyond 4k60 (eg 4k120, etc)...more reading. https://www.flatpanelshd.com/news...1629971809

I have been using this for about 5 years now with my Klipsch speakers. Hooked up to PS5, Apple TV, fire cube, google tv and to my LG C2. Been working great. Bought it from Costco for ~$350 on a killer in store deal. It was called TSR-700 I believe. 100w per channel at this price is not easy to find.

Had the tsr-700 which is its costco exclusive version but from what i hear basically the same thing. The hdmi 2.1 is the lower end spec, so when I hooked up a series x to it, i couldnt get 120hz to work, I assume pc at 120hz would have the same issues. other than that, all 60hz video sources worked as normal

Did you ever get the HDMI board replaced under their service? Early models actually couldn't do 4k/120-8k/60.

Yes, and current at the same time, but with bandwidth limitations.

I have had this for about a year and am very happy with it. I'm only using a classic 5.1 setup though so can't speak to more challenging configurations. PS5 and Xbox VRR work great to my 4K TV and MusicCast is surprisingly good for streaming your own music from a UPnP server. It also supports streaming services if you have one of those. No issue at all with an Apple TV or Panasonic UHD player connected to the receiver. It just works.

Would this be a good upgrade from a Denon x1200?
