I bought a pair of 1000 mile boots in December. Their top of line. Broke a lace in 3 weeks. Customer support won't do anything. For me I got 0 warranty and 0 support.

The last Wolverines hiking shoes I bought fell apart after minimal use and seemed to be the same construction as the $35 Walmart garbage brand.

Seems a YMMV deal based on size...But great boots. I bought mine a year ago and get quite a bit of use out of them throughout the colder months, with two mile hikes/trail walks nearly every other day, often in the snow during winter. They get wet on the outside but stay dry on the inside.

I did have to replace the laces after about a year. They were $2.50 at Walmart, and 54 inch laces are needed.

The only other thing, and I had this problem with my Timberlands too, is that for some reason I needed a wide boot. I do tend to wear thicker Smartwool socks in the winter, so that might have a lot to do with it, just keep in mind if you do the same.

I have been very happy with the boots and see no quality issues with the pair I got.
