The Funny Carpenter reviewed this brand/model against a $1700 Fuji Q5 Platinum. For someone who just needs to lay a nice looking coat of paint and isn't a lifelong professional painter, he was very impressed by how well this $70 kit compared to the $1700 pro system.

For $36, I'd say it's even worth a one time use if you have a lot of doors and/or cabinets that you need to lay down a smooth coat of paint on.

I have only painted with a roller and paint brush in the past. Is this paint sprayer easy to get a hang of?

Youre probably not going to be painting walls with this. I mean, sure you can, but the masking that needs to be done is very time consuming. This is more for just doors, cabinets, and stuff you want to have a smooth finish.

It would probably take you longer to clean up the machine than it would to stain a project. And you would still have to wipe off excess stain.

Yes and no you need to thin the paint properly for it spray well. Always do sample test piece and lots of masking as other comments have said. For 30 bucks not bad

Saw somebody else replied too lol..

I bought this exact model a few months ago when it was on a crazy sale for $30 and it is amazing! It doesn't atomize the paint quite as well as my old Wagner $350 sprayer that broke after owning it for over 10yrs but this cheap one's performance is surprisingly close so for only costing about 8.5% of the price of a "good" Wagner sprayer it is definitely worth it if you need to cover large areas smoothly. I bought a 2nd as a backup because it worked so well and I know I won't be able to get spare parts for it 10yrs from now since it is just another cheap Chinese product, and I might buy a 3rd now so I'll have spent less than $100 for 3 of these bad boys! It comes with 3 different diameter nozzles so it works for really thin liquid like stain all the way up to thick latex or PlastiDip and the trigger has a feed knob adjustment to fine tune the flow rate since the air spray rate is non-adjustable and always on. I just used it for PlastiDip'ing my whole car which everyone told me that no cheap sprayer can do since PlastiDip is thicker than most paints but it worked fine using the largest diameter nozzle in the box and I didn't thin the 4 gallons at all that I got from DipYourCar website. If you are painting a whole car, multiple walls, or a room full of cabinet doors then the sprayer would be easier but it requires more prep because you have to mask off and cover ALL areas you don't want overspray to touch because it will get on everything in that room even with a powerful extractor fan and duct.
