I bought a cheapie 2 weeks ago. I never knew I needed one. I have a photography degree and been posting shorts and videos for decades, and was talked into starting a Youtube channel. I am having fun and will never be rich and famous but figured why not try one of these.

It stabilizes camera shake up and beyond what is done by your phone. It can cause dramatic sweeping shots, hold positions, help you with a more controlled zoom in or out. When you try and do a panoramic shot and it goes crooked, this does it with a sweep after pushing a few settings.

They come with an app that gives more toys. Better control of slow motion video or timelapse. You can better control your focus, zoom controls, your color, contrast and exposure. Honestly more settings than you will ever need.

Like I said, I didn't know I "needed" one until I had one. I decided to return the other when I saw this deal. DJI is a big name in the field, and after talking to my buddy who has one, who came over and gave me a sales pitch, I bought this one.

I paid $170 about 6 months ago. This is a solid deal if you don't care about having the 8. This is 95% the same as the new model.

I picked up the "other" Chinese Gimbal last week and... I think it was well worth the Sub $40 price. It works, but it glitches a bit. I .

The phone holder could not tolerate phone cases and had to be perfectly centered or phone would bump the arm. It was difficult to tell if I was in the mode that would auto rotate or not, it would suddenly shake violently and ruin a shot. It could not get it to flip from front to back easily, and the interface has some minor issues I can live with. And, not to be parinoid, but who knows what else the app from China does in the background. All and All - I got what I paid for

I am pulling the trigger on this. Sure it is more than twice the price, but... Probably work better.

They stabilize footage from smartphone so when you do a video it looks cinematic. However many phones now are using gopro like software to stabilize post process so not as necessary as the old days

Solid deal, but this vs Insta360 Flow 2 Pro for $111 is a difficult choice...anyone with real world experience with both have an opinion which is better with an Android phone? iPhone users seems like an easier decision, the DockKit compatibility with Insta360 and active zoom tracking seem well worth the extra $11, but as an Android user the difference between the two seems much less.

Just got the Flow 2 Pro, I'm a Pixel 10 Pro XL user. Still learning how to operate it ... Slight learning curve with the multiple button press design. Seems to work good in all regards. Tracking functions as expected. I also have the AI module, so tracking and gestures work in ALL apps basically.

I bought mainly to use on an upcoming island vacation, and figured it'd be great for pano photos and taking videos of my kids with the tripod aspect and tracking.

well built device that serves multiple uses... be prepared to practice tho with the way the controls are laid out I'm tech savvy, but a bit of a stoner and am having issues, lol. definitely need to put in some practice prior to real world use!

Thanks for the feedback! Have you found using the AI module is better than using the app? From what I've read, the app is better for tracking but video quality for some reason can stutter. But the extra step of the AI module seems like it would annoy me and I'd probably default to the app.

The module enables the tracking thru apps other than the insta360 app. Tracking works the same in my opinion in the insta app with or without. To use tracking on the pixel camera app or any other app you need the module. The module also has a pretty nice fill light.

I bout it from the insta360 store got the AI bundle... Used their $10 new customer coupon and they were throwing in a free magsafe adapter, so got the magsafe, the flow 2 pro, and the AI module/light for like $150 with 2 yrs of there instacare warranty.

the module plugs into the actual gimbal so you could actually just leave it attached if throwing it in a bag. that's what I do, I have a small osprey daylight sling.

So there's a big difference between a stabilizer than having just a tripod that's also a small stick you can take off and some have the extras like 360° face following or whatever it's called lol idk I haven't bought anything yet bc I'm scared to purchase something that's not going to work. I know alot of ppl are using drones now too! Just looking for some ideas and advice.

Anybody know how good the tracking is? Could I set this up on the sideline at a club soccer game and have it track the ball and set it and forget it for the whole game? Or is this asking too much of the tracking ability?

Are the extras over the 7 (fill light, control wheel, others?) worth the money? The 7 seems to be selling for about $60.
