Thanks OP. Good deal. I have 3 of these from 3 years ago. They really helped with my allergies along with my other air purifiers. I do prefer Winix wifi ones where I can program different schedules. But with this sale price paired with comed rebate $50, 2 free ones is great deal to add for my basement.

I'm not seeing this model listed on the comed rebate list
Is it worth it to go for smart variant with sensor and auto mode for $150 more?
no, its kind of neat to see the senor change color if you happen to burn something in the kitchen etc, but totally unnecessary, if you can smell something off, turn up the fan speed

Filters are ~$13 each when you buy the 2-pack and generally last 4-6 months.
Operation is quiet.
I like mine and I've had it 2 years.
Is that for generic filters, or do the OEM filters go on that good of a sale (rn OEMs are $30 each). If generics are good, do you have a brand suggestion? (IMO generics can be good, but quality can vary a lot).
I was able to find an explanation on the different color of their filters btw, it looks like the toxin or smoke filters are most comprehensive. For some reason it won't let me attach it though :3

Comed doesn't list it, but in general comed is missing a lot of models. I have submitted for this levoit several years ago along with humidifier that wasn't listed as one too. The box or manual has to say its energy star product, that is all that is needed to qualify. The manual says it's certified energy star.
