Damn. These comments are brutal. I thought the story for this game (and the slow reveal of what Zero Dawn actually is) was phenomenal, the machine battles were a blast to master, the acting was phenomenal, the graphics & scenery in this remaster specifically was impressive (especially compared to games built in UE5), and the world was fleshed out in a way that made me want to explore every crack and crevice of it.

This was also a GOTY candidate the year Breath of the Wild released. I don't think I'm alone in believing this game is better than the comments here suggest.

One of the few games I've played that I would love to be able to re experience. Don't read any spoilers. If you like action RPGs this is a fantastic one.

My experience was the opposite of this. $20 is a fair price considering I put 72 hours into this including the DLC, but overall a very skippable game. I ended up only playing and completing this because a friend insisted.

Everything is half baked: Story, environment, charecters, combat, every gameplay mechanic.the only thing the devs got right is maybe Alot's charecter design. She's an iconic figure in gaming at this point.

The game isn't really replayable and the story isn't that good to warrant not looking up spoilers. This isn't the kind of game I wish I had brain damage do I could forget and play it again.

That would be Outer Wilds.
Odd. I started reading your post but then my phone disappeared from my hand and showed up near my great aunt's house. I tried to resume reading there but then it disappeared and showed up at another family members house.

Fun game, worth it if you have not played it. I already have the complete ps4 version so probably going to grab something else for ps5 on sale at Best Buy.

Does the Remaster have a new trophy set or does it stack with the original?

Totally agree with you IMHO. I got it for PC as a deal for $20 and paid another $10 for the remastered version upgrade as it was on the shelf for a bit. I would have to think the graphics were considered stellar and ground breaking at the time but it just became too repetitive. You either loved or hated combat and I felt the latter. Storyline was meh with bad boss battles right up and including the end. I won't say anymore to avoid spoilers.

It's absurd that all of their first party games are not on ps+

Outer Wilds?! That game belongs in a black hole. The ship controls like a school bus in a lake. Never been more frustrated trying to move from point A to B and having to do it over and over.

ditto. one of the best games I've ever played (and I've replayed it a lot).
the slow reveal of everything was amazing, and the parallel plot lines of what was going on now vs what happened were great. one of those "wish I could.blank my memory and experience it for the first time" games.
I just remember even in the first area starting out and looking at the map and going "what the fark is THAT?" and trying to piece together where I was (and when) throughout the entire thing.
the first vantage point knocked my socks off because I hadn't read a thing about the game so I really had no idea that was what was going on.
I'll probably start it up again on the Steam Deck after writing this; just so much fun. And the DLC is great.

1000% correct. This game is a masterpiece of storytelling and the gameplay itself is very satisfying.
