If you fly enough that you're considering this, you should get over ear headphones like the Sony XM series or Bose QC series. They inherently block out 90% of the high and low pitch noises that over extended fly time degrade your ears ability to hear properly.
And as an added bonus, they have 3.5mm port so you can just buy the $2 cable and plug in 😊 no BLE audio compression artifacts, not that the in-seat entertainment unit puts out super high quality anyway.

Yep, these headphones are better. But also much, much bulkier than ANC buds..
I dunno, I bought a pair of cheap $5 versions. When I tried it out at home first, one would receive BT but not transmit it. The other would not work at all, receive nor transmit. If you found one that works, please post a link or a pic of it, there are many cheap versions out there.

I use the white version frequently during flights and generally like how it functions. However, there is one major flaw: the blue ring constantly blinks during use. In a dark airplane cabin, it is eye-blindingly bright and distracting. I actually had to cover mine with black tape so I wouldn't bother the passengers around me.
It's like these designers don't use their own products. Many, many products have blinding LEDs. Can't use them in a dark room or dark car without doing what you did, put tape over them Some monitors and TVs have an excessively bright LED right on the front....

United Airlines Entertainment System is bluetooth capable now. I connected my Airpod Pro directly in a flight last week. Tech is growing fast & these Bluetooth connectors may soon become obsolete.
