Good deal for someone trying to enter the foldable market. The size and aspect ratio are (in my opinion) so much better than the tall Z folds. Yes, the G2 is old but it's not like the G3 G4 G5 were big leaps.

Really hope the rumors of a galaxy fold wide and the iPhone fold sizes are true; and that the market shifts to this size for foldables.

I'm looking to upgrade from my failing s23 plus. How does this compare to it?

Hard to compare. I think it comes down to user preference. I personally went from a OnePlus 12 to a pixel fold. The biggest downsides of this phone are the battery life and a chipset that is a couple years old. This came out the same year as your s23. I'm not sure this would be considered an upgrade, just different. But it is a brand new phone with the added bonus of being a foldable. I'm really loving mine after switching from a more powerful 2023 slab phone.

I will say all of the Google updates, first to get new Android, and quarterly feature drops help to keep this phone feeling new and having fresh features. I much prefer pixel software over Samsung, but to each their own.

Too heavy and compromised overall to be a proper daily driver in 2026 imo. Especially with the subpar battery life, overheating and durability concerns.

outstanding camera on the Pixel Fold and their software is the best IMO.
