Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

pretty meh deal considering trade in values are in the toilet and there aren't any good extra freebies. A few years ago you could reliably count on upgrading from current samsung model to next model for $200-400 (or even less) and get thrown in $100 of accessories, free buds, maybe even a big discount on a tablet.

Now you pay $600+ for a phone that is a marginal upgrade, what a bummer. Not surprisingly sales have slowed down massively.

The S25 Ultra was $850 straight up last black friday, no promos/tradeins/lockins, this deal is still better of course and with everything going up in price its not too bad. Especially if you are a satisfied google fi customer.

On the plus side the S2x line of samsung phones is pretty reliable if plain and kinda boring. Battery life is good, phones work great, cameras are good. I currently use a flip 5 and its my second one after first one's screen died after 2 years, replaced with fi warranty (no issues). I don't think the S26 line would need a warranty though, phone should last years for any normal person.

It is pretty telling there isn't a mega samsung trade in thread on SD on launch day for S26, usually every year that thread would be dozens of pages long by the end of the day.

For anyone wondering about release date it looks like the phone ships out on March 11th, and you can choose signature delivery or not on release (i would heavily recommend signature delivery). Sometimes Samsung does ship phones out early too.
If you sell last year's ultra locally then you can upgrade every year on Fi without paying a dime. That's what I have been doing since S23 ultra. It's better than Samsung trade in deals in recent years. However, Samsung had great deals on fold last black Friday (without trade in) so for folds that might be the way to go. I have not decided on that yet

How are people's experiences with Fi's Flexible plan? Do they get charged for at least $10 for data even if the phone is on WiFi all the time?
No it's pay per use so if you don't use any data you don't get charged anything.

Can I use the phone with a different carrier after 2-3 months of activation, or does it have to be with Google Fi for 24 months?
This is for existing Google Fi customer. Please refer to the original post for doing the deal as a new customer

Curious when Google Fi will ship the phone.. card was just charged. Ordered around 10:30am PST and card wasn't charged until 7:20pm PST (~9 hours later)
It might couple of days earlier than the release date on 11th. But they do a temp charge which is what you might be seeing now.

Refer to the original post for the steps. You can keep a Fi line around (pausing in between) for these deals.

Isnt it the lower the price the better?
I think he meant $450 off, I am seeing the same but I didn't have Fi in the last 180 days.

Get $300 off Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra now, plus $600 back over 24 monthly bill credits, plus double the phone storage on us

Get $300 off now, plus $600 back over 24 monthly bill credits, on a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra purchase from fi.google.com https://fi.google.com/about/promo...UltraPFmem
  • You must be a new Google Fi customer. A new Fi customer is someone who has never had Fi service or someone whose last day of Fi service took place more than 180 days before making a purchase with this promotion.
This is also a solid deal if you need a new Plan and a S26 for New Customers

this is only hot if you are already on premium, my calculation shows upgrading from standard to premium is just about the same as staying in standard and taking the $450 discount.

I will be better off passing. The Samsung site has a discount after trade-in: an S25 Ultra for $399 for non-education accounts and $379 for education accounts.
If you are trading in anything you can easily sell for over $270 Fi is a better deal

For example , if you are trading in a phone you can sell for $500 , Fi is a better deal by $230

Edit: I am not taking into account the service requirement so I guess you have to factor that in too if you don't want the service

This offer applies to existing customers. New customers should wait for one billing cycle or get $300 off and $600 back over 24 months.
I would love someone to test this theory

New customer sign up for Flex or Premium on BYOD and activate eSim , use code from Reddit for $60 when signing up. I dont think the discount starts until the 2nd month

See how fast $650 existing customer deal takes to appear., I am thinking it will be less than 21 days despite policy... But if it appears the first day of service wait 24 hours before you buy it

I would do it but I am happy with my Flip 7

-- So if anyone is going to sign up and try to become an existing customer , post back if you had to wait the full 21 days to see the deal

Same here, by far the worst android phone I've ever used. Just a camera that makes calls like the Nokia n95

No, my number is with FI so I just ordered. I think what service you have at the time of activation matters so it should be fine to resume the service. What does it show in the FI app tracker?
I don't have FI app installed for now. But your point makes sense. I will order the device and then wait till the device comes before I resume service. Thanks.

It makes sense if you are upgrading a single line but if you have multiple times cost of upgrade nullifies the increased discount.
