For those who are new to Fi, steps to become an existing user and
1. Open an account with flexible plan. Use unmentionable code from existing user for $60 credit.
2. Just to be safe, wait for the first bill to be generated before ordering the phone. This will take couple of days. At the very least wait for a day but I suggest waiting for the first bill generation.
3. Once the phone is shipped you need to activate the phone within 30 days. At this point another counter for new user r**f credit is also running down from 30 days. I strongly suggest you wait for that counter to hit zero before you activate the phone. All the counters will be shown on FI app-billing-Track FI saving and instant rebate.
4. Once the phone is activated on FI by downloading the FI app, you should wait for a day for the counter to go down by 1. At this point you can disable/remove the eSIM and use your current provider.5. At no point during 120 days move the FI SIM to another phone (i.e. do not install FI app on any other phone and log into this FI account). Once the counter reaches 0 you can cancel the line or pause it for next deal.
The total cost will be $650 + $25 (plans cost per month including fees) * 5 - $60 = $715

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.
New FI customers can have 512gb for $999
Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

with Z Fold 6 trade in the price drops down to just $300. crazyass deal for a 512gb model S26 Ultra.
Must be state/location dependent. I'm being charged tax on the $650
I did the same thing as the poster you quoted. I did not re-activate my account. I have been pausing service every 90 to keep the account "active." The deal shows up automatically. I just checked out and paid the $650 + tax.
When the phone arrives, you just un-pause the service and active it on the new phone. Basically leave the service on for 120 days. Once you clear the 120 days, you just pause the service again. You just have to remember to re-suspend the plan every 90 days, otherwise google will automatically re-activate it.
This all assumes you are using a different service provider and just using google-fi to get a discount on the phone.
I would love someone to test this theory
New customer sign up for Flex or Premium on BYOD and activate eSim , use code from Reddit for $60 when signing up. I dont think the discount starts until the 2nd month
See how fast $650 existing customer deal takes to appear., I am thinking it will be less than 21 days despite policy... But if it appears the first day of service wait 24 hours before you buy it
I would do it but I am happy with my Flip 7
-- So if anyone is going to sign up and try to become an existing customer , post back if you had to wait the full 21 days to see the deal
So, I tried signing up as a new customer on another Gmail account (also applied the referral from my main Fi account). After activating the eSim on my spare phone, I am now seeing the $650 off for the S26 Ultra. But I'm curious, why do we have to wait 24 hours before buying it? Is it safer to wait until the first bill is generated? I'm not really in a hurry to buy it, I just don't want to jeopardize my chances of getting $650 off.
Thanks!

Once you sign up for FI with a code a 30 day counter starts for fullfillment of the $60 service credit i.e. you and the referrer will be given $60 credit after 30 days. So it's treated as a promo and on FI you can't do overlapping promos. So I strongly suggest once you receive the phone wait till that 30 day counter goes to 0 before activating Fi on new S26 ultra. You anyway have 30 days from shipping to activate on FI. This way you will be doing this S26 promo *after* the ref promo is over. Fi support is useless and they don't have any clue how the system works so even if you take screenshots about the promo etc the system will charge you back if it determines promo is not satisfied. You don't want to deal with FI support and things won't get resolve even if you do.

I've had a Google Fi account for many months and I'm planning to upgrade to the Unlimited Pre mium plan. From what I understand, once I switch plans, I should be able to use the $650 promo within 24 hours. In my case, that would make the S26 Ultra 1TB $949 + tax.
I want to use the offer for both myself and my wife (group plan member).
We both have iPhone 15 and would like to do a trade-in.
But I noticed trade-in seems to only work once per order.
So my question is:
Can I split the orders
place one order for my phone with trade-in
then place a second order for my wife with her trade-in
Or does that cause issues with the promo or account?
Has anyone here done this successfully?
Thanks in advance!
