Ugh, Google Fi is charging sales tax on the full purchase price, not the after discount price.

Comes to like 17.5% in taxes when it should be 1/2 that.

The 512gb price is $1499... Therefore $850 is correct! I'm not sure if the 256gb is eligible

New FI customers can have 512gb for $999

Samsung pricing is insane. Apple is final cheaper by a mile. Samung sales are nonstarters

Which case are you using for S26U?

I got two samsung cases

Samsung - Galaxy S26 Ultra Silicone Magnet Case

and

Samsung - Galaxy S26 Ultra Rugged Magnet Case

Really good build quality, but the rugged case is extremely slippery...hardly any grip.

Silicone is not as slippery, but doesn't seem like it has much shock absorption capability if the phone drops.

I am going to return both of them and try the this one Samsung - Galaxy S26 Ultra Clear Magnet Case - Transparent.

Looking forward to your feedback. thanks
I dont have any as I don't use cases on my phones. One of the reason I buy the phones is it's design so I like to keep it pristine. It's a risk nonetheless but I will only need to keep it like that for a year or less Smilie

Wow! Brave Soul. No screen protector?

I guess more like 6 months since you use Fold for the other 6 months?

Yeah no screen protector as well but I don't mind them in general, happily used the ones which used to come with earlier Samsung phones. Just sold my z fold 7 for $980 so yeah may be 6 or 9 months to next fold as I am still debating weather to do the upgrade with Fi or during Black Friday

Day counter gets updated (decreases) exactly 24 hours after activation. So it is based on your activation time.

My counter now shows 119. I will let it sit for another day or two and then reset.
What exactly will you be resetting and why?

It's because its considered a rebate not a discount in the price.
The difference is you're buying at full price and they are giving you some money back because you have something something. Hence you pay sales tax on they'll full price.
Versus them selling the phone for half price. Which you only pay for sales tax on that half priced value.
It sucks, but that is how sales tax works

It's not true for all states. For California unfortunately it is true but Fi even couple of years ago did not charge the tax on the full amount even in CA.

My main line is not on GFi. I will factory reset the phone now that counter is counting down and use it with my main line. I will put away the GFi SIM and pause service when it reaches 121 days and promo is in the bag.

Great sale. You are a master at this. Thanks.

Thanks. I just ordered Spigen Ultra Hybrid case. I tried 3 cases from Samsung (all open box items). Didn't like any of them. First time in a while Samsung messed up on cases. From 20U onwards, I have been using Samsung cases.

I will try out Spigen, dbrand ghost and tank cases...hopefully that will settle it. I want to make sure they cosmetically look good as well as has great protection.

That's the way it's been for 3 upgrades: this promotion and the free upgrade to 23u > 24u > 25U > 26U have been working, and the second stream started this year, so the wife will be happy too—everyworshipworshipworshipworshipworshipworship year, a new phone.
