i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

They already released the S26 series trade in values and it doesn't really pencil out this year unfortunately. You can get them pretty cheap but you can't make as much money this year. Tax in California pretty much kills the profits.

Do you remember how much they were giving for the s25 trade in last year? I wouldn't think it was much more than $430. The $100 price increase is what lowered the value of the deal.

FYI, for anyone wanting to do a trade-in in-store, there's a chance the phone might be out of stock at nearby locations. That's exactly what happened to me last year.

The free upgrade deal seems to end 3/10.. So if we wait to go to the store and do this in person, we would essentially need to get the base 256gb model (unless we want to pay the difference)?
I do this every time and pass on the 512 for the peace of mind of an in store process and instant refund for the trade in.

I can help answer these since I have a good amount of experience with spectrum deals.
1. You won't be able to return the phones since you'll be way passed the return period by the time Assurant inspect your trade in.
2. You have 4lines, I believe there's a limit of 1 or 2 for pre order. It's best to do in store since they'll inspect trade in phone on the spot and give you credit immediately and you won't get tax on the trade in portion depending on which states you're in.
Hope it helps
Not true. I got rejected for trade-in last year and was able to return for full refund.
Make sure that you send the trade-in right away once you receive the email.

The stores inventory are definitely hit or miss. The fact they don't have phone numbers to be reached at force you to waste time driving to every store to find out. I'm not seeing much reason to deal with all the spectrum nonsense this year.

That's good to know. Did you activate your new phone before you return? Did you get back your trade-in phone?

No, I did not. If you open it, you will be charged $50 restocking fees. I did get my trade-in back in a brown box. I sent in the original box.

One more thing to note: if the phone is tied with a new line (instead of an upgrade), the line will be canceled as well. Be careful if you port in because you will loose your number.

I had this written down from last year but I can't remember if this was before or after the price nerf that they did later on because of all the S25 trade ins for S25+.
S25+ 512 GB $1,237.00
S25+ 256 GB $1,180.00
S25 128 GB $1,113.00
S25 256 GB $1,118.00

When I first called Spectrum about the deal just to see if customer support could check the stock of locations, she told me what was where. Then later on when I called later that same month, they stated they weren't capable/allowed to see it. I don't know if I was lied to or maybe only specific departments can see it. I do remember that I spoke to a woman from New York for the first phone call. Can't remember any other details unfortunately.

Thank. One more question if you don't mind, why did they reject your old phone?

Oops this is not good. I think I need to cancel my trade-in order now. Why didn't they indicate that in the order process? So they changed this locked/unlocked rule this time.

I don't think that's what "unlocked" means in the context of their FAQ. If you click on the link for "unlocked from previous carrier" it takes you to a page for porting in a number from your previous carrier. My two cents - most places give two sh*ts about you trading in a phone that's still "locked" to a carrier. I think in that FAQ it's clearly talking about "make sure you have your account # and PIN" for your number and it's "unlocked" so it can be ported to Spectrum. But.... that's just my two cents.

So if I'm reading this correctly, I could technically sign up 4 x lines w/ Spectrum mobile, and each line gets a trade-in credit of $705 per device? Then after 60 days of cheapest plan, the phones will unlock? Rough math shows the phone after tax would be about $980 - $705 trade in + $60 for service = $335 for a new S26 unlocked after 2 months? Not as good as last year but still not shabby.
