I plan visit a store soon to trade in old S25 and get S26 as an upgrade to my current line (I qualify for upgrade). Once I have S26, I will test trading vs Ultra.
Btw, has any new Spectrum customer here received the new customer credit of $400 in store, with 2 lines? Was it really spread over 36 months via device payment plan or were you able to get the full $400 instantly when you select "Pay in Full"? I'm asking this as the terms always state promo credits spread over payment plan duration, but stores have been able to provide the credits instantly even when the trade in terms mention otherwise. Also, as new customer, do we need to sign up for internet and the 2 phone lines at the same time, or can we order internet first, and then go to any store to get the 2 phone lines and the $400 credit? New internet customers can often get $40 500mbps plan online or over the phone, while stores charge $50 per month, including one free phone line. That's a saving of $120 a year.
Not sure what exactly is going on, but when I tested S26 Base to Ultra trade in online, as an upgrade, I was seeing the full $1130 credit, until the very last order review page with place order button. FYI - I do not have S26, and so I selected S26 but used IMEI from my old S25+.

Update: Trade in value reduced to $430 only at the check out. Party is over for the people who wanted to trade and upgrade.

If you look at my previous comment with screenshot, my test checkout page had the full $1130 credit ($430 + $700) for S26 to Ultra trade in. Did you confirm the reduced value at a store?

Got in a sticky situation where spectrum store inspected my phone but just chose to tell me to mail it in after paying the full 900$ + tax. I know my trade in device is fine but what if rejection happens after the return window?
- The cost of the phone is higher, S25 base was $799.99 last year and S26 base is $899.99 this year but promotion amount ($700) stayed the same.
- Even if you get an S26 the $700 credit does not apply when trading in S26 for another phone in the S26 line.
So unless something changes, while this may be worthwhile for those who actually want a single upgrade to the S26 line it is not really a deal anymore in terms of multiple trade-ins like the last few years, especially if you do it instore and do not get tax reimbursed on the trade-in amount.Note that I do not have s26 on my account. I'm using Pixel 9 pro xl and upgrading to Ultra by trading in S26 as a TEST, and the full trade+promo value showed up until the very end of checkout process. Maybe Spectrum no longer allows trading S26 to Ultra/+ with second full promo values. Not sure if trying on a new line might work.
Awesome price to hold and unlock in 2 months for gaming and or sell for $500-600.
Going to get 2 more next week or online if they stop me in the store.

It is like with people who do trade-ins at the store, you get the credit instantly applied and not after 2-3 billing cycles.
Also if there was such a policy it would not make sense for it to be "2-3 billing cycles" since there would need to be a clearly defined amount of time and not a variable amount of billing cycles.
