i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

I have no clue who you are and that is absolutely insane if you actually remember some sort of discussion from a year ago. We are not even talking about mail-in process but in-store trade ins so I am not even sure how what you mention is relevant. As you know very well Spectrum employees also have to enter details for the device such as IMEI number (not just device name) that is used to confirm identity and trade-in valuation for the device.

Just because a mistake has not happened to you or you do not fully understand what is happening on the backend does not mean that they do not happen. You can certainly call and ask Spectrum/Assurant yourself to go over the terms of the trade-in and process with you if you need clarification about how they confirm device identity and Assurant's role once Spectrum store sends the device in.
I remember because it was from the S25 topic literally a year ago when you went on your little rant lol

Anyway, I am not wasting any more time with this. I have literally ZERO reason to call Spectrum nor contact Assurant when my trade in is already complete, but if that it what you are compelled to do so, feel free to do it with your own time.

That is absolutely insane if you remember some comment you made to me about S25 from a year ago. You should definitely considering taking a break from this site and getting some fresh air if a conversation from a year ago has caused this prolonged of emotional distress in your mind. Especially if it was about mail-ins and you do not even do mail-ins.

As you mention, if you are not interested in calling Spectrum/Assurant yourself to get more information and are not going to believe what people say against your pre-existing belief then the conversation is pointless. You chose to reply to me and engage in the conversation with me, not the other way around. So I agree it is a good idea for you to stop especially if you are resorting to personal attacks and bringing up unrelated conversations that upset you a year ago.

Bro all I did was share an experience so it can help others lol. And the only reason I remember is because you are inhibiting the same behavior as last year when you had your little fit and refused to listen to anyone.

Old habits die hard I suppose.
EDIT: Feel free to block me if you find my comment offensive. I truly do not care lol

wootWent to the Spectrum store this morning and traded in my Flip7 for an S26 Ultra.
They ended up giving me $895 for the Flip7 and gave me an addtional $40 off my existing Spectrum internet for a year!

This is the 3rd year in a row that they've absolutely hooked me up with freebies (last year was a free mobile line) - Pretty happy with everything
so you traded your flip 7 for $195? ( $700 promotion + $195 trade in value )

Yes. Delivered Tuesday and got a second reminder about the trade in though it's delivered already. Will wait for a few more days.
We are exactly in the same fate and I also got a 2nd reminder about sending in the trade-in phone too. I sent in the Straight Talk Motorola G 5G 2025. We can only wait at this time. Keep in mind that there is only 14 days of returning the new phone from the purchase date/shipment. I will post an update if I hear anything more.

So your theory is that when Spectrum employee accepts a device there is no check in place to confirm the model of the phone being accepted? That is quite the interesting speculation.

Actual practice through a dozen or so trade ins in the past 3 years in store. Not theory or speculation. Once trade in is confirmed at check out, that's the final value. no post transaction adjustments.

I signed up for spectrum internet as a new customer but not started the service yet. Would the $400 off promo appear only after activating the internet service as right now the $400 off disappears in the cart, any idea?

How do you block somebody on this site? That would be the most helpful thing you could contribute to the thread.

So you have submitted a phone instore where they reimbursed you for the incorrect amount due to an error in entry of the old device? If not then you are not disputing anything that I said. Please see previous messages as I never said that this is a common error, I said that there are several checks in place to prevent trade-in errors instore. However if a mistake were to happen then after Spectrum submits it to Assurant then a correction process can get triggered the same way as if you mail it in. The difference is errors are much less common when Spectrum employees process the trade-in versus the issues people encounter when doing it themself.

You could have done it 100 times but if Spectrum has never made such an error then you have never had an experience with it. It does not take much common sense to understand this. It would be like saying that just because somebody has mailed in 20 devices and never had one lost in the mail that nobody has ever mailed in a device and had it lost in the mail.

Thank you, does that also prevent them from seeing your posts and replying to you? Or does it just prevent you from seeing them but they can continue replying to everything you post?

I can confirm the store employees have incorrectly inputted different models in the past but if it works in my favor (ie. higher value than what I should have gotten), then I'm not complaining to them. These are not expert examiners. They select from a drop down list the same way you do at home. Once the transaction is done, it's done.

Anybody in CA hit with pre-discount tax on trade-in?

Last year, tax was on post-discount and wanted to see if anything changed.
