Went to the spectrum store in southwest austin and traded in a 35 dollar moto g 2025 purchased from the walmart next door. The rep claimed you could not trade in a locked phone but I told him it was accepted by the online system and he tried it again and it worked. Was in and out in 30 mins. Total paid 650 for 256gb s26 ultra. Also have a free line of service with their internet plan that we're paying for. Super hot deal!!!
Don't want to go to the store and waste an hour, but it looks like this is the only way.
I am not sure why they charge tax on the full amount online (before $200 pre-order discount) and also don't refund tax on the promotion amount credit. I paid extra $110 in tax for the S26 Ultra pre-order.
Earlier today I went to a store near me, but the moment I started with trading s26 , the guy at that store immediately began telling me the iPhone 17e is not available. He asked what color, and I said anything except pink. Then he tells me they got pink🤔. I then asked if they have base s26 to add to my second new line. Then he tells me base s26 is out and they only have plus and ultra. Damn. What a weirdo. If I ever need to go back to that store and he's the one available, I'll ask for a different employee. I felt like he was intentionally trying to make things difficult for me. Maybe he previously worked for Metro dealers and learned all the negative experiences. I thanked him and left .
The second store employee was awesome.
Ported the 2 $20/GB lines to metropcs again to grab the 16e phones again, which will trade in for $310 apple GCs.
