i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

i just did some testing, and $200 discount shows up on s26 plus and 26 ultra , but not on the s26 base.

There are a few states that still charge tax on the full amount in store but most do not. Tax law in most states says that discounts/promotions like the trade-in promotion are subtracted from the total when calculating tax. It is unclear why Spectrum changed things online as they are in violation of tax law in many states but your better chances are in store at the moment until some consumer protection bureau or lawsuit forces Spectrum to correct/compensate for things online.

I just tried it with a fully paid off Spectrum s26 from my account, and using it for trade in for S26 ultra via add a new line in my relative's account. No go. The $700 was removed at final checkout just like in my own account I also tried using an unlocked S26 ultra I bought from Best Buy, and with that the $700 shows at checkout with either my account or my relative's account. Looks like it is removing the $700 bonus base solely on the Spectrum s26 series IMEI.

Ok i found the ultimate infinite money glitch for those with no sales tax:
1) trade in moto 5g for s26 (Pay $200)
2) trade in s26 for iphone 17e (Profit $5)
3) trade in iphone 17e for s26 (Profit $75)

Repeat.

Just to let you know the points of reference for mail-in trade-in :

  1. They received my trade-in on March 16.
  2. Got the approval email on March 23rd:
  3. Saw the credit on the account on 25th March
  4. Requested credit with the phone call to the billing refund line: 1-833-224-6603, March 25th, 11 AM EST
  5. Saw the credit on my original credit card on March 26th, 10:00 AM EST.
