i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

i just did some testing, and $200 discount shows up on s26 plus and 26 ultra , but not on the s26 base.

Thanks for the confirmation, my "Mobile Order Details" does not have the $700 promotion information so I will have to cancel. Mine showed the $700 at every step of the order process even the final confirmation page after submitting order. But it is not on the "Mobile Order Details".

Yeah, if you don't see $700 promotion in the 2nd email from Spectrum, then it is better to cancel the order to be safe. Today I tried to use IMEI 1 of my S26 from Spectrum to trade in for Ultra version, I saw $700 promotion at the last step too, but I didn't submit the order.

Question for you trade-in gurus: if I buy a phone on either the $30 or $40 line, then a day later click the Shop Devices link (since it says Eligible for Upgrade), then get another phone on that line. Will both phones be eligible for unlocking after 60 days (well a little bit more on that 2nd phone, but you know what I mean)? i.e. since the 1st phone isn't really active on the network for the entire 60 days (as the 2nd phone is taking over the line), will that first line be eligible for unlocking simply because it's activated at one point? I've always buy a new line for each purchase, but that's at least 2 x $20 for each phone in order to get them unlocked. I'm wondering if I could've saved those $40 all these years. TIA!

Interesting, seems they must have changed something in their system that is causing changes/issues related to the $700 promotion. Bad timing for me, they are definitely not making things easy this year.

Yeah, I was surprised about that too when I called in to request the refund go back to my credit card. The rep told me that this year the procedure is different. They have to create a ticket; then that ticket needs to be reviewed and approved by the responsible party or department, then the money will go back to the original credit card. I confirmed the same procedure happened when I went through the chat system too.

They did so much damage to the deal this year that I am guessing they will continue it since orders probably went way down. The price of the phone was even $100 higher this year but promotional amount the same at $700.

Good deal if you actually want the phone and have the free line with internet but nothing like the previous few years.

It happened to me yesterday in-store too. I just placed an order online 3 hours ago; then I received an email to verify my identity.

My device was delivered to Assurant on April 9th. I recieved my Assurant approval this morning April 21st. Hope this helps someone who is waiting for updates after online trade in.

Just had "Your Order is Canceled Due to Credit Concerns" email on the 3rd online order in 2 days. I wonder if its spectrum cancelling it or my credit card detecting fraud?

"We received your recent mobile order x, placed on April 21, 2026. After a careful review of the application, we regret to inform you that your order has been canceled.
If you would like a statement of specific reasons for the cancellation, you may call us at x within 60 days from the date of this notice. We will provide you with the statement of reasons within 30 days of receiving your request."

me too. I called them and the agent wasn't able to see the real reason. she had to put in a request to email me with the details later.
