This is about $100 less than the average used price. Just make sure to pay the extra $5 or whatever for shipping insurance because items from Adorama are notorious for arriving damaged.

Good deal! This is cheaper than the original Player series was selling for ~5 years ago when it was consistently hitting the front page.

This is my experience. I ordered 3 things from them a couple years ago. 2 of them looked like they got dropped out of the back of a plane. And honestly, I know UPS can be iffy with big items BUT I've never seen anything like that. I'm 99% sure it was a return or a repackage or something.
I got a good deal and got a partial refund out of them but it was the biggest gd headache ever.
Anyways I think this price is probably worth it, but I'd just be careful.
About the guitar: I happened to buy a chambered player II guitar recently off reverb. Basically the same guitar just lighter. It's a very nice guitar and a major upgrade over my 20 year old Mexican tele. These punch above $500 that's for sure.

I have gotten 2 guitars and a pair of large floorstanding speakers from them and all arrived in perfect shape. I am in CA, so it was a long way to travel as well.

I can't find anywhere in the specs where it was made? Is this made in Mexico model?

There's not going to be too many more times you're going to see a new Fender at $500. Crazy deal for a really great guitar. The blue with the maple really pops as well compared to some of the other colors that typically get price cuts.

Yeah I have a strong feeling they ship out damaged returned items and then blame the shipper. It happens WAY too often to be accidental. That said, the optional shipping insurance was pretty easy to deal with when they sent me a damaged amp. I got all my money back and they let me keep the amp. Considering it was free, I don't mind where it's cracked. I often wonder if that insurance company will get sick of issuing refunds for them though.

This is a great deal, but you don't NEED to spend this much for a beginner guitar. The Monoprice guitars sell for about $100 (or much less when on sale) and they totally work as a beginner instrument.

I bought a Player Telecaster from Adorama for $480 back in 2019. Adjusted for inflation, that's $610 in today's dollars, so getting a Player II for $500 is a sweet deal. Is this good for a beginner? Absolutely, but it is not a "beginner's" guitar. This is just a straight-up nice guitar.
I always kind of ignored Telecasters, preferring Strats. But then I got one and -- wow! I had no idea they were so versatile.
