Perhaps he meant "Buy the entire set" meaning all the sizes typically required such as 1 Cup, 1/2 Cup, 1/3 cup and 1/4 etc.?
I do a bit of baking and cooking here and there and the only one that I use least is the 1/3rd cup and the rest of all the dimensions are super useful as most recipes call out those more frequently.
A good sized scoop for leaving inside canisters of flour, sugar, oatmeal, rice, or pet kibble, etc. I like having a dedicated scoop; just put it right back into the canister, means one less thing to wash - until you need to.
