I bought two of these on the last SD for $25 for a field office. You can use the stock firmware to mesh them together. They work great and I was completely happy for $25. Wi-Fi speeds at full internet connection no issues, no downtime. At this price you can create a mesh for your whole block.

Might grab a couple more for spares or to give away to people who ask me for help.

Thanks. I bought the ax1800 for $10 as an emergency spare. When my routers go out I'm forced to buy whatever my local wally world has on sale,(since I can't get on Slickdeals, because, duh, no router).

Last time it cost me an arm and a leg.

still using the $20 Linksys LN1301 (AX4200, 4.2Gbps) from the fire sale back in 2024. rock solid. was very surprised at the quality.

But storage is limited to 128MB?
The MX4300 that was referenced in the previous post has 1GB of flash. This E7350 only has 128MB. That said, I think you're better off running services like adguard or wireguard on a faster Raspberry Pi where storage is relatively cheap and plentiful. Let the router focus on routing.

Looks like OpenWrt is supported on this Linksys E7350 (aka Belkin RT1800), but the initial flashing procedure is not the easiest (requires TFTP): https://openwrt.org/toh/linksys/e7350

Is this good just to replace ... I'm sorry .. I have spectrum they gave me I think I modem router .... Can I buy this and replace it ?
It won't replace the modem as other have said. However you can use it on top of your existing modem/router. I do this with Xfinity. They included a modem/router and I added my own router on top to give me more customization and coverage. You can even use it as a high powered extender and it will be better than the small extenders you can buy at this price. Easy way to get wifi coverage to weak portions of your house without spending an arm and a leg. You can either hardwire it with an Ethernet cable from your existing modem/router (this is what I did by running a cable up the creases of my ceiling/wall or you can set it to repeater mode and accomplish the same result wirelessly.

But I think it needs a connection to its serial port for the initial install of openwrt. Anyone know if they have tried it or know what firmware version it comes with from woot? Firmware 1.1.00.032 or older?

As someone who has flashed linksys routers with both openwrt and tomato (before all the forks) many many years ago, the installation procedure for this now looks so convoluted. Trying to figure out how to do it before buying... you basically need to know how to code/script with all this spotty documentation/instructions. Does this model's u-boot(?) bootloader have a TFTP server or client? Do you need to buy a serial cable? I don't even see a serial port, so also multiple adapters? How do you place the image onto the TFTP server? Seems like you'd have to learn whole new multiple sets of skills to be able to do this.

Looks like either method 2 or method 3 is applicable to this router. Sorry, I don't own this model to tell for sure.

It is. 2x RAM (512 vs 256Mb) and higher CPU frequency (1350 vs 880MHz). Also compatible with openwrt.

I was on the fence with this myself. I went with this $10 option - the recent reviews on the $15 version in the end was the decision maker for me.

I have AT&T Fiber with a BGW320 modem/router combo.

What do I need to do to use this as a Wifi extender? Can I use 2 for even more coverage? Am I better off getting the E8450 that someone else mentioned for $14?

I bought one of these refurbished recently from Amazon for $25 (seller was Tech Union). I was able to flash OpenWRT from the factory firmware, but that may have been because it was running an old version of factory firmware. I didn't have to open the unit, use a UART, or TFTP.

Does this have both wired and wireless extender modes to connect to other brands of routers? Asus calls it wireless media bridge and wired repeater modes I believe.

Edit...
According to a post on Reddit, it doesn't connect to other brands wirelessly, with stock firmware.
