I used to consider and recommend this as the best tablet/phone controller... until I had to use the down dpad button a lot very quickly for a game mechanic. Turns out you cant disable/remap the screenshot button, which happens to be just below the dpad, like really really close to it. I don't have fat fingers or huge hands, but I still would hit the screenshot button often enough to make me change controllers.

Another issue is the lack of vibration on the usb version (the bluetooth version has rumble). At first I didn't mind, since I was playing mostly old retro games, but for newer games, it takes away a lot of the immersion. It even can make a game harder because of a mechanic that relies on vibration feedback, which the usb version lacks.

I would still consider this as a decent controller, but it definitely has its drawbacks.

I can vouch for the non bluetooth version of this, the X5 Lite which is $24. It is flat out awesome. I can actually game on my phone now, and I've been having a blast. Just picked up Dead Cells which is amazing, and have also been playing through Streets of Rage 4. Gamesir makes some good controllers as far as I can tell. If you need the bluetooth capability, I'd say give it a shot. Plus I think the bluetooth version has analog L2/R2 triggers, whereas my version just has digital.

How do you deal with charging? I feel like the Bluetooth version prevents you from charging while playing and that's a problem depending on the game

That is exactly why i got the usb-c version. No lag, connect tablet to the usb, and pass through charging to charge the phone whenever it run low. Whereas with g8+, we have to charge both the controller and tablet for long session. If charging does not bother you and latency is good enough for you, then g8+ is fine.

I have both and love both, but tend to favor the g8 more than the g8+ since i don't have to worry about charging multiple devices. Both can be modified for larger displays. I have both modified for 11" tablets for ps5 streaming through pxplay and use this setup more than my ps5 directly.

I can also vouch for the wired one (non-bluetooth). Liked the idea of no input lag when I was already planning on using it for streaming, which causes its own issues. For charging it lasts a good while but has pass-through charging via USB-C. I have a pretty slim case and it still wouldn't fit unless I took it off so I took a sharp knife to the rubber bumper to slim it down and now it fits perfectly.

And the new version if you're interested in looking into it, I think it came out a few months ago: https://gamesir.com/collections/m...8-plus-mfi

If it's like the wired-only one that looks the exact same you can take a knife to the bumper to make it a bit smaller so your phone will fit with a case. Was nervous to do it but it cut clean, looks fine, and worked perfectly. Still a headache the maker should have thought of ahead of time though. They have another product where you can remove the bumper and replace with different sizes, they should have done that for this one, too.

What exactly is 76% off? I don't see anything that should retail for 191.

I'm using Bluetooth version with switch now. Its really good. I dont play very long hours so i dont worry about charging. The controller is compatible with my phone too. The buttons are clicky and comfortable to hold

I've got this one, the Razer, and the backbone and this is by far the best! I even modded mine so it can open far enough to use with an iPad for when I want. Can't recommend this enough
