1) It's straight from the US west coast warehouse.

2) I've made at least 15 orders from this seller. They aren't fakes.

Where on earth do you think the "real" ones are made?

Hate to break it to you but China leads the world in Flashlight technology.

I'd love to hear more about these decent 18650 lights for $9 though.

That doesn't mean China doesn't make knockoffs of nearly everything. Many knockoffs aren't even bad products. These are literally half of 9 bucks at just $4.50 each with over 9000 reviews averaging 4.5 stars. Thats a lot of satisfied people. That would definitely fall into the category of "most consumers". https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-F...r=8-9&th=1heres one for 10 bucks with 50k reviews with 4.5 stars. https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable...=UTF8&th=1
Those aren't even close to comparable. First one advertises 1000 lumens but reviews say it's only a fraction of that. The second one you linked advertises less than 200 lumen. This deal is for over 5000 lumens.

Those decent flashlights are bad, plus they don't come with batteries. Buy this SC33 for $27 and your mind will be blown.

99% of the population is fine with far less than 5000 lumens. Probably fine with less than 1000, even 200. Besides most of the reviews say its bright as hell in real world usage.

People who didn't want a 5000 lumen flashlight should probably not buy it. Or consistently thread crap deals for one.

I have it but do not like it, although using it daily.
Don't get me wrong. it's a great flashlight, well made and bright as hell.
But it has weird charging problems that I still fail to understand.
Some cables work, some do not (no problem charging other devices). Same cable works with one charger but not another, no matter what port (A or C) I use. With some cables it thinks I pressed the button and lights up. And so on and so on....
Yes, I found a combination of charger and cable that always works, but it's not like you can plug it into random charger using random USB-C cable.

I heard these flashlights work better using USB-A cables. Do you see less problems with that or about the same?

so im assuming these don't support high wattage fast charging then. Which im assuming is what you are talking about.

I ended up buying the upgraded version SK40 for $45. I was shocked at how bright it is. It's a superb thrower. Good build quality, but it does take forever to recharge.

That's not an upgraded version it's a whole different flashlight altogether. The sk40 is very throwy with a narrow and dim spill. The sc33 is very floody with moderate throw and bright and wide spill. Which one is better totally depends on your use case and preference.

triggerhappy007: Yes, it is better using USB-A charging port, either A-C cable or C-C cable with A-C adapter.
Goldenboi1210: No, I do not think that's the problem. I tried different cables and different chargers. Different wattage, quality, brands and do not see any pattern.
I believe it is about two things: 1) power negotiation between charger and flashlight and 2) resistance of cable that disagrees with e-switch of flashlight.

Ignore anyone complaining about this being from AliExpress. Sofirn has a US based and China based account on that site. Only thing that affects is how long it takes to get to you. Otherwise it's a great way to get these much cheaper than on Amazon.
If you have a welcome deal+coupons+coins+credits you can get it even cheaper. I just bought the st10 from them for about $2 this way. I previously got the wurkkos ts26s for under $10. Definitely the way to go.
Only thing I may suggest is using your PayPal balance to pay as I've seen some people say AliExpress triggers a $10 foreign fee charge if the seller doesn't code the sale correct. Otherwise no risk when you buy directly from the manufacturer
