My use case: 1. Transferring my teenager's Apple watch number (1-year service expiring) from a no-name provider to get her first phone. So, I am paying $120 for 2-month worth of service for this iPhone 16e. 2. After getting the 2nd month of credit, I'll either the service and trade the 16e in on Apple for a no-carrier 17e at a value $310. That's a net discount of $190. Thank you to the poster who confirmed that Apple would accept an iPhone with SIM lock for trade-in
Note: I got $400 Apple balance from a Black Friday deal in 2024. Need to use the $. And, I got on last year's Total Wireless unlimited deal at $15/line/month. My goal is to switch transfer the number to Total Wireless after the end of the first 2 months with the 17e.
I'm very tempted to get another 16e the same way for resale BUT I'm hesitant. Offer Up, FB Market Plan, etc will be flooded with tons of 16e. How much would I get back? $300-$350 as a Cricket-locked iPhone? I wonder if this 16e could this be used on AT&T's network? The value is going to drop. Don't wanna hold on for it for too long. Do you think there're takers? Thoughts?

- "Existing customer"
- Then "New eSIM device"
- They will send you an OTP
- Then ask for the new device IMEI
- And the email where they should send the QR code
In my experience, you won't even need to scan the QR code - just choose to set up a new AT&T eSIM on your new phone, and it will download automatically.Like metro by T-Mobile

That's incorrect math. If you buy one phone first, then as an existing customer add three more lines, two months for four phones with four port-ins will cost you $260 (not $880). But IDK if they give you a discounted price for all 4 lines.

ED: there is apparently a 3-month unlimited plan for $45 (it was listed under yearly plans so I didn't check there at first). If that's the case it'll be $75 for the final four months instead of $120, presuming you switch to the $30 plan for the last month.
In other words:
$120—phone+first two months
$45—unlimited plan for next three months (total of five)
$30—10gb plan for final month (total of six)
For a total of $195+tax. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
