T-Mobile 30 day eSIM Trial on T-Life App you can port it out for free. I got 4 phones to use on trials from Straight Talk/Total Wireless deals unlocked in last 3 years.

After get Free Trial Number create a T-Mobile ID: Use the T-Mobile website to link your trial number to a email/profile.

Locate Account Info: Your account number in the "Account Summary" section of the online portal. Generate a Port PIN: Under Settings in Profile

For Chrome, open incognito page, chose I need a new number, chose $55 plan, enter your zip, hit get new number, hoover your mouse to the top right area near the X then message for coupon will pop up, works for me every time. These $25 off coupon works for only new customer, won't work for existing customer option. I can give you a code if you can't generate one.

anyone have experience with a lyca port failing? I activated 2 days back, called lyca today and received my CIP and Account number not that long after by text. A few hours after getting the text I went to crickeet - I then tried porting in but the employee said it was reporting as port delayed. waited a good half hour -45 mins to no avail.
he said i should just try again tomorrow. anyone gone through this before? i also noticed that the lyca website is absolute trash since then and is not letting me login nor is it sending me an OTP. could this be a lyca problem?

is there anything I have to do after getting my acc/CIP after requesting to port out? i don't think so, right?
I would suggest going through the Helium app for the zero plan to bypass all that riffraff lyca putting you through. Setup all your account info such as verifying your ID, mail addy, and payment info before going to Cricket. Once you arrive at Cricket, you can then activate the line which you'll be immediately charged $1-2 (based on taxes in your locale) and allow Helium to setup the eSIM on your phone then you can then just cancel the account which you'll be prompted to port out the phone number and lastly, you'll be presented w/ both the PIN and account # to provide to the Cricket sales rep.

I went back to the only apple store here again, with the "$0" iphone 16e and a 13, hoping a second re-run of the diagnostics on a different day might give 16e a pass. A different employee helped me with the trades, iphone 13 passed and got $195, but unfortunately the 16e failed again, with no explanations/reasons. The employee even asked a few colleagues and her manager for a possible override after I explained and showed the box with matching imei and Cricket's order email, with the possibility that Apple's database or diagnostic apps was throwing off false alarms, but they politely declined and mentioned they do not have the ability to override. Suggested returning the phone to Cricket for a possible replacement.

I accumulated enough gift cards (3 iphone 13 and 1 16e) to buy the 17, but was hoping to go for the 17 pro if this 16e passed. I'll be waiting to spend the gift cards. I'll use the 16e for a few weeks and then trade it for bestbuy gift card. Maybe I'll trade my S25+, and some accumulated gift cards to buy S26 Ultra from BestBuy.

If the phone doesn't trade in at Apple store, is there a possibility of asking cricket for a replacement at all?

Traded in 2 16e's as soon as the Apple Store opened today

$310 each. I actually wanted to use these for the 6 months in order to unlock them and give them to my nephews. But I decided to just trade them in since I was worried of the error a few members are getting with the battery stuff

I might get them a neo for each of them. Just have to get the student discount pricing

Those whose trade in is failing, someone mentioned, in the initial comments, that they had sent the phones which failed diagnostics to trade in via the online kit and they were successful, and the process for accepting the online trade in for the ones failing diagnostic took about a day longer than the ones not failing.

Glad to hear you decided to try out Helium. Helium has been recommended by a number of people throughout this thread and for good reason since Google Voice and TextNow won't work and you actually come out cheaper using Helium compared to those other 2 options anyway...

For those of you who traded in an iPhone 13, did they do the diagnostics wirelessly?

all of them are done wirelessly. the process is done inside the phone and results sent out via wifi.
I was just at an Apple store in Canada going through the trade-in process for 2 of these 16e. no rejection which is my only fear. trade value is roughly the same but buying another phone in Canada is more expensive so I canceled the trade and will do it again next time I'm in US.

I'm facing the same issue with xfinity mobile. Their code only lasts 24hrs! I'm assuming the port will fail but there will be a way to enter a new pin that I can generate when needed and it will be fine. Good luck to both of us!

ETA: I should note that when I got the Pin from xfinity, then entered it into the Cricket form and checked out, I got an email from xf stating they received a port out request. So I'm wondering if Cricket already initiated the port, but in a pending state until I actually activate the phone/plan, then pushes it through. And in such a scenario the Pin has already been validated as far as xfinity is concerned? I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Update: rec'd the phone yesterday but didn't hey to activation until today. Activated in the app and the port went through instantly, even though the xfinity mobile pin was 4 days past its 24hr expiration. It would appear that the pin was verified at the time of the cricket order and once verified has some additional time frame to port it out and doesn't need a new pin. I then transferred the esim to my mother's iphone 13PM using the built-in iOS esim transfer feature and the cricket service is working fine on her phone. I'll try trading into apple later today if I can.

Also, in the cricket app it says the service only has 24 days left until renewal (2nd line with only 1 month prepaid). Shouldn't it have started today at activation?

Just grabbed five more phones in store for 370

Obviously more expensive because they charge tax on full price of phone but had no nonsense fees etc which was nice and the prior deal is dead anyways
which phones and i assume port in is required?

create more helium accounts with different emails. not sure about different phones. I did 3 accounts, 1 on my phone, 2 on the 2 16e i got from this deal lol. verify ID and use same CC. even though the esim couldn't install due to sim lock on 16e but account was still created then I transfered the 2 esim from 16e to my phone => now all 3 on my phone just with different emails. helium zero works with wifi callings too so for $1 or $2/mo could be a solid back up or even to receive 2FA all over the world (not sure how reliable as I haven't tested at least it's not considered VOIP)
