Did you activate the devices and have the eSIMs transferred over to another device prior to doing the trade in?

Thanks for the data point worship
I'm not the person you quoted, but that's what I did.
I have some spare iPhones and I went on the cricket site to start a chat
put: esim
it will ask for your phone number
and then enter the imei number that you want the service to be on

very easy

$370 for 5x phones is not farfetched or out of the ordinary. I only needed to buy one 16e when I visited one of the local Cricket stores in my area and they charged me $72 altogether. You just have to make sure they're not trying to upsell you or including any unnecessary accessories/add-on's to your order so that it comes out that way.
Thanks for the advice earlier, it worked 😀

i went to a store too but was quoted close to 200/phone. 2 months (120) + activation (25) + tax (~50ish) is what he said. must be some of the unlucky states... or you've hit the unicorn store... i don't know. I'm ok w/ the 2 I got for 210 shipped (interestingly no tax whatsoever). more would've been nice since the wife wants the next 18 Pro Max lol.

I got my 2nd phone delivered earlier today (like 3 hours ago). I logged into my Cricket account and tried activating the phone. But, it throws an error message stating "We understand your excitement to join Cricket Nation. Once your device is delivered, you'll be ready to activate. Check your email or track your order for updates". The UPS tracking shows delivered. Thoughts?

Yeah, I'm glad that worked out for you. When I went to the store Saturday, I noticed the saleswoman was a little too insistent on adding unnecessary shit to my order like cases, screen protectors, chargers, etc. so I admitted to her that I already had all of those items at home (which I actually purchased prior) so she eventually relented and gave it to me for the base price which was $72.

From what I can tell, the issue you're probably running into is that they're only supposed to charge you for one month while in-store which should come out to $72 each. The online pricing of $120 for 2 months of service doesn't apply when visiting your local Cricket store. I would suggest you try visiting a different Cricket store location if you're not having any luck and don't tell them anything a/b the online pricing. Just tell them that you're wanting to purchase an iPhone 16e through Cricket's promo then listen to what the salesperson tells you. If they try to charge you more than $72 per phone then inquire what other line items did they include on the purchase order and then decline anything on it that you would consider excess.

When I received my first iPhone 16e via UPS, it came included w/ a 4x4 green memo in the box w/ instructions that says the following:

Activation is as easy as 1-2-3
(1) Find your Order Number and Phone Number in the confirmation email.
(2) Go to cricketwireless.com/activate.
(3) Follow the simple activation steps.

Need help? Visit cricketwireless.com/activation-support.
Hope that helps

noob question: I see a lot of you rush to transfer eSIMs and trade in these new iphones. Any advantages of doing this now Vs one/two months later, other than getting your $ sooner? Also if I plan to use the phone for a month and then trade in, should I still transfer at the end of the month? won't Cricket take back the phone number if I don't pay?

Thanks everyone! I just activated my new unlocked 17e. Ported from Boost and finally figured out to use another shipping address after a few cancellations.

Got one iP13 before they changed the deal (paid $85+tax=$90)

Sat: activated service on iP13 and let it sit overnight

Sun: used online automated chat to transfer eSIM to my unlocked iP17 (iP13 eSIM went inactive then I turned off the phone)

Today: no problem trading it in at Apple Store for $195 Apple GC

Left the phone on iOS 26.2 (did not update), did not login to Apple account during setup, did not fully charge battery (only did 70-80%) -- left the inactive Cricket eSIM in there and did not reset the phone

Do I need to sign in to my apple account, or can I just activate the eSIM, reset it, and trade it in? (I'm planning to trade it in via mail)
