Unlocked Motorola Moto G Power 2024 5G 128GB/8GB Blue + New Line Activation with Verizon $29.99 BestBuy

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/m...ku/6572573

Steps to follow to get the deal:

1. Go to Bestbuy Listing for Motorola Moto G Power 2024 5G 128GB/8GB Blue and choose "We'll help to connect this with carrier".
2. Choose Verizon and then new number (you can also choose to transfer a number but given that you are going to cancel it first thing new number is better).
3. Go through checkout and fill out verizon related info. Note down the account PIN you used as you might need it later during cancellation.
4. You can pick the phone up in the store. After pickup, setup verizon account with the new phone number.
5. Chat with CS to cancel the account. Activation fee is waived if cancelled within 3 days.
6. The phone is factory unlocked, sealed and ready to be used with any provider.

Personally, I don't do these activation deals at Best Buy but people have had better experiences. If you can make it work for yourself, its a great device for $30, especially being unlocked.

This Moto G Power 2024 is a budget unlocked phone that stands out for solid reception, decent everyday speed, and a comfortable rubber like back. The display and overall feel get strong marks, and it works well as a basic daily driver on carriers like Tello, Google Fi, and Verizon. The main drawbacks are weak rear camera performance and reports of slow or spotty connectivity on some networks. The Verizon activation bundle also adds hassle, with possible plan requirements, fees, and cancellation follow up, so it fits best if you want the phone more than the carrier promo.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can be a solid budget daily driver with good speed, display, and feel, and several reports say Motorola radios give strong reception or connectivity. The main caveat is that some users found the rear camera weak and a few reported poor connectivity or slow performance.

  • The line can be cancelled through Verizon chat, and some buyers report doing it the same day or within 3 days to avoid activation charges. Verizon may still post a small charge later, so it helps to save screenshots and confirm the cancellation in writing.

  • Yes. The phone is unlocked and not tied to Verizon, so it can be used on other carriers or plans after purchase. The Verizon piece is only part of the promotional activation bundle, not a device lock.

  • With a voucher, some buyers got it down to about $20 out the door, and one report put the total around $35-$40 after a later Verizon charge dispute. A Visible bundle was also described as about $110 total with a month of Visible service included.

  • Yes. Checkout can require selecting a Verizon plan, and the cheapest option shown is $75/month, so the deal may not proceed unless you choose a carrier plan. The phone itself is unlocked; Verizon is only tied to the bundled line activation used for the discount.

so many phone deals out there, this one is not worth the risk and hassle unless you already have verizon
Honest question tho: what are my options for a Moto G Power for $30 (or similar)?

Now that you posted publicly that you are interested in stealing this phone by intentionally signing up for a plan and planning to cancel it, the Precrime department is on its way. Pray for a Minority Report to exonerate you. Wink
That's a good one. Minority Report was a good movie!!!

very slow, pass
Are you expecting flagship phone speeds at this price? It is a budget cell phone for people who just need a basic device that can access the internet. Guess for the price you can take a risk on a used ebay phone.

We cancelled your order.
The activated device purchased was unable to be activated so it was cancelled along with the items included in your mobile package.
If you still want this device, we recommend scheduling an in-store appointment with a mobile specialist who can help recreate your order and successfully activate your device.

Of course you have to choose a plan. But you can cancel it the next day. Please refer to the instructions
I ordered the phone last night and it said available for pick up tomorrow. Picked it up from the Store today. Inserted the Verizon Sim to get the new number. Do I have to chat with Verizon CS today or tomorrow to cancel the Verizon account/service. Any idea what reason to tell if they ask why you want to cancel the account?.

You can just call them and request to cancel based on a better offer or change of mind etc.

As I have mentioned in the op, personally I didn't had a great experience doing these activation deals and don't do them. However others have reported success. I am probably not the best person to answer, my apologies.

Would you be able to list down the steps for us to follow to cancel the account after setting up the verizon account with new phone number?

I should clarify this was before the order was ready for pickup. I even tried again choosing a different BB for pickup. The only instruction I changed was adding a second Moto G to the order. So a total fail for me.

I have successfully disconnected the service by chatting with them.

Verizon agreement states you have to return any equipment which was purchased.
Cancellation
You can cancel a line of Service within 30 days of accepting this Agreement as long as you return, within the applicable return period, any equipment you purchased from us or one of our authorized retailers in connection with your acceptance of this Agreement, but you'll still have to pay for your Service through that date. If you financed your device with Verizon and cancel your Service(s) after 30 days, your outstanding balance may immediately become due. Canceling service may also impact promotions associated with that line(s).

This phone worth a hard pull and the hassle?
When I used this promo a few months ago it was a soft credit pull so no harm done and cancelling was easy via VZ chat. Didn't even turn on the phone myself so line definitely wasn't used at all but BB worker activated it in store initially while I waited, I was there to pickup the phone and phone was still factory sealed when I got home with it being activated.

Main annoyance is Verizon still billed me ~$10 a month later despite me cancelling fast and not even opening the phone so had to go back to VZ chat and dispute the BS charge. At the time (unsure if anything changed since), there was no activation fee if cancelling within 3 days so I didnt owe them anything but they still tried to be slick by charging me unfairly so watch out for that and make sure to dispute the charge if, like me, you cancelled fast and didn't use the line at all.

But frankly even with that $10 BS charge, it would still be a great deal as I paid something like $25 with tax included for this unlocked phone. For $10 more, meaning $35-$40 total, its still very much worth it as the phone works very well for my needs. It's just a matter of principle, since VZ didn't provide me with any service whatsoever, why the heck should I be paying them anything? Best Buy sold me the phone and I paid them, transaction complete, Verizon can f off with their scammy fees for nothing.
