This doesn't go up to 85 deg like the non-L model (as mentioned in the description), if that's what you need for certain engineering filaments or want to anneal parts. The sovol SHO4 on slickdeals from AliExpress does and is $87

have it from aliexpress - happy with it. A couple of machines that don't have AMS units share it and I can dry them print right out of it (tubing/cutter/connectors are dirt cheap) by running ptfe tubes from the machine all the way through the lid of the dryer (I put the tubing through the provided holes and put a bunch of wraps of hockey tape around the tube above and below the hole to keep the tube in place)

I got my hopes up this was for the regular X4, I didn't notice this was the X4L right away. Not that I really need it, but I'm holding out for the X4.

Are you trying to cook a roast in it or something 😂. Makes sense higher temp needed to dry certain eng filaments or annealing.

I bought this from Creality directly before the sale hit. This thing is very good at drying PETG and PLA. I'm sure it does other as well but thats all I print in. Still a very good deal for 99 dollars.

This is a great deal! I got the 2XL for 99 some time ago. Not sure if it's a good upgrade for someone who already has the smaller one.

Tell ya what. I have the space pi 2, and about every 3rd time I fire it up to dry a roll, gives me a E4 error and I don't know why. But when it works, it works great.

Perplexity says this about E4 error:
If E4 appears right when you hit Start (not later in the cycle), the dryer is basically flagging a temperature/heat start fault: it either does not see a valid thermistor reading, thinks the lid is open, or cannot begin heating correctly.
Fast checks to try
  • Turn it off, unplug for 10–30 seconds, plug back in, then try again; several users report E4 disappearing after a full power reset.
  • Make sure the lid is fully seated before you press Start; E4 can be thrown if it thinks the lid is open when heating begins.
  • Start with one spool only, at a low temp (around 45–50 °C) using a manual program instead of a high‑temp preset like ABS/ASA; heavy or dual spools plus high temp can make it fail its initial heat‑up check.
If it still throws E4 immediately
  • Check that the home screen shows a sane room temperature before you start; if it already shows E4/EA or a nonsense temp, Creality's own debug steps point to a thermistor or board issue.
  • If the displayed temp does not rise at all when you start heating, support recommends checking for loose thermistor wiring or replacing the mainboard; Creality has been sending replacement boards for persistent E4 on Space Pi units.
Does your Space Pi 2 show a normal ambient temperature on the screen before you press Start, or does it go straight to E4 as soon as you start the drying program?
