I bought this saw last time when it was for $99. It's well made and lightweight so easy to carry around.

Anyone who uses miter saws want to comment on how necessary sliding is if all you're doing is small fixes around the house? For example, I need to insulate a sunroom and replace the drywall there, which means I need to cut new window trim and such.

I've had this saw for a few months and this is great price for a very good quality saw. Price was $119 at Menards when I purchased. If you are cutting 2x6" boards or less, you do not need a sliding saw. This saw will work great for angle and miter cuts, if you are doing trim. Has a hold down to keep the board up against the gate. Cuts smoothly. I originally purchased this saw to replace the sliding glass doors on 2 tub surrounds. To get a decent looking cut on the top frame where the shower glass slides back and forth, you need to use a saw like this with an aluminum cutting blade. Professional looking results. Also like the lighter weight on this - under 30 lbs.

Awesome deal on a great entry level miter saw. As it's a 10 inch saw, it's very light and ideal for the homeowner or for someone needing a basic miter saw to take out to jobsites. I own this saw, and have found it to be a great tool.

its nice to have when you need it. this price if great for the saw. Most of the time you would just lock the slider in place.

I'm with everyone else here - this is a great basic saw. I bought it last year and it works really well, it's light and easy to carry, and it's cheap...
Incidentally, it also mounts on the Hyper Tough universal stand like a champ:

If you're cutting mostly smaller than 2x6 then this saw is plenty capable. I just framed out a greenhouse in 2x4s and it was great. I had one 2x6 header where I needed to flip the board to complete the cut. Not a big deal. I cut a 1x6 and it didn't need to be flipped. I would not hesitate to jump on this deal for a project where you'll be making a bunch of miter cuts or even many straight cuts.

Thank you both—repped!

I forgot the wife also expects me to finish the front fence, which means 4x4s, but flipping it seems to be a trivial thing.

Really it depends what you're cutting. I dont have this saw, but I do have a 10" slider. Most of the time the slider is locked. Although a recent example when it wasn't was when cutting some 12x2" lumber.

For most household things like molding or adding some 2x4 bracing in a wall, it wont be needed.

I thought single bevel was OK... but then regretted not having double.
