These rocket vacs are extremely powerful for the size.

I bought this in August for $10 more. It works really well on both carpet and tile. I quit using my upright vacuum and only use this now.

If you have hardwood floors, hold out for one with the Duo-Clean rollers. The front one is fuzzy and does a really good job on hardwood. I've had a Rocket with Duo-Clean for something like 10 years and haven't had any trouble with it. If you have a Rocket, I highly recommend the flexible extension hose HVFH320. I use that with a brushed pointy nozzle to clean baseboards and bathroom fan grills. EDIT: Looks like they no longer off the Rocket with the DuoClean head.

I've got this vacuum, and I would call it good enough. I'm waiting for it to die to upgrade to a Sebo or Miele.

had one since 2018. best vacuum and I'm picky with everything. I use once a week for carpets, as I prefer it to the robot which leaves some trails from the wheels so I quit using it on carpet. robot does the hard floors since it mops em too. for areas where robot can't fit I use the vacuum

Bagged vacuums are the best but are a pain to find the bags & then changing them plus the clean-up. I guess best to do that outside to avoid the mess in the house.

I haven't used Sharks, but here is my data point on Dyson:

I have one of their XLs from several years ago. It really sucks (compliment).

However... The brushhead motor died within a month after warranty expiration. I reached out to them about buying a replacement part and they wanted nearly as much as I paid for the whole unit - So instead I bought salvage motor units off the bay (1 for around $25, the other around $27). I disassembled the brushhead and replaced the motor; a medium to advanced-level DIY task because they purposefully designed this thing to be hard to service. I bought two as an extra replacement or in case I messed up the repair.
