S26 is not getting the love. The only thing it seems is new is the privacy screen. Not gonna be a hit

Not a bad deal if you're switching lines to Mint Mobile.

Really sucks I just got the same phone for the same price from Google Fi. Was going to get a S26 Ultra too with their current customer deal but missed it by 12 hours.....

And with GoogleFi I have a 120 day unlock and I canct even use the data on the plan (without paying extra) while this one was unlimited. The S26 deals this year have been terrible.

I think it's the best deal around right now. Might wait a few weeks and if nothing else pops up I might just jump on this deal.

Hey everyone! Already an existing Mint mobile customer but want this deal (new phone + $180 12 months unlimited plan) while keeping your phone number? If you are paying on a monthly plan, I have a Google Voice work around that actually works.
  1. Start a 2nd line or new account with Mint to purchase the "New Customers offer". If port-in is required: you can try using a Google Voice number. Once you get your Samsung phone, initiate a "Port-out" process through your Google Voice account. Google will charge a $3 fee for porting out. Activate the Samsung phone line.
  2. Now you are ready to port out your main phone number from the 1st Mint line to your Google Voice. Google will charge you $20 for porting in. Of course this will terminate the Mint line. It is best to initiate this process near the end of the plan to save money.
  3. Install and connect Google Voice (main phone number) to your new Samsung phone line.
Having your main number on Google Voice gives you the freedom to move around to other phones and take advantage of carrier deals. New phones and discounted plans all year round!

Where does it say that you need to port existing number?

That's correct. This Samsung deal doesn't need a port-in but requires a new (line) plan purchase. Converting your main phone number as a Google Voice number to piggyback off the new line would be an optimal solution.

Good thinking. However, it's significant slow when I make calls or text messages with Google Voice on my phone compared to the service that I already have with wireless carrier. I don't think emergency takes Google calls, plus many VOIP services such as Viber don't take GV. Call/Text interface is very barebone. This is why I don't use Google Voice.

I have experience some lag with outgoing/incoming calls if my cellular network quality is weak. You can fix it by changing Calls settings in GV, under "Making and receiving calls" set it to "Use carrier only". Nevertheless GV works perfectly when connected to WiFi, as I am mostly connected. It is true GV(VoIP) is unsuitable for 911 call, sms OTP verification, and other VOIP services. For the most part personally, they do work for me. Something out of the ordinary, I will just use the phone's carrier number to resolve it. Yes, wish GV has RCS so I can 'like' a message.
