ibotta is now deducting 3.99 per month from your balance if you haven't redeemed an offer in a set amount of time. You have to accumulate $20 to cash out and it's not my fault if they don't have any offers I want and my money just sits there. They've taken 7.98 from me. I can't see why it's costing them anything to sit on my money. Thoughts?

Ibotta stock was at $108 in 2024 and now it sits at $22. They need the money lol. I would be very happy if digital couponing failed and we went back to coupons in the paper. Digital has taken the fun and savings out of couponing.

It's always been their policy and you agreed to it in their terms when you signed up. I realized I wasn't using my Checkout 51 account enough so just stopped using them so I didn't lose any more money.

CO51 will zero out your balance after i think 6 months... do a survey and you can add a few cents to keep your earned amount until they actually add items you might actually buy.

$3.99 a month is such a rip off. What is the set amount of time before they start deducting? Haven't seen it in my account yet.

Can you just buy a GC before you go shopping somewhere like WalMart once a month to avoid the fees? Most of these apps have had some kind of inactivity policy where they deduct funds or points. I'm pretty sure CO51 has the same kind of thing. They ate all my small earnings because they hadn't had an offer for anything I was remotely interested in buying forever, so I quit using them but they never had any offers. At least iBotta has occasional any item things including scan any grocery receipt for .10 or .25, so staying on top of that will probably help allay any potential deductions.

Six months unless theyve changed it. For awhile now I only do Ibotta when I know I can cash out reasonably quickly and then leave t at zero until that happens again.

Some GCs may require at least a $25 minimum. Also, why bother with tying your cash up in a GC and simply opt for a Bank transfer instead? If the GC minimum is $20 and you are still having trouble, I'd contact their help desk. I can't really vouch for them. I bought a $1k television through them at BestBuy and didn't get any cash back. I contacted them twice and nada. I decided shopping at online stores through their interface was a waste of time so I never attempted it again. So CS is spotty at best. The app can be good so long as you use it regularly. I've gotten lots back so I'm not complaining too much but it's far from ideal in many respects. They sure beat the pants off CO51.

This rule has existed a while. I believe it is 6 months with no activity. It's so easy to just do an 'any receipt' or any item offer to keep your account active.
