The Bambino is a compact espresso machine that stands out for fast heat up, solid shots, and easy hot water for americanos or tea. Paired with a decent grinder, it can make café style drinks quickly, and the milk frothing is good enough for home use even if it trails pricier models. The main limits are minimal temperature control and a workflow that can feel clunky for long coffees. It is a strong value if speed and espresso quality matter more than extra features.
The ThermoJet system can heat water quickly for faster espresso and milk drinks.
The hot-water dispenser can provide immediate hot water for americanos and quick tea.
The Bambino can produce espresso shots comparable to a higher priced Barista Pro.
The puck removal workflow can be easy, with pucks falling out after a light tap.
The espresso results can depend heavily on grinder and bean quality, limiting gains from the machine alone.
The machine lacks temperature control, so water temperature cannot be adjusted precisely.
The long-espresso workflow can require two steps, which slows down making a single long drink.
The plastic water container can crack on a used "like new" unit, creating a reliability concern.

Got it free on facebook and fixed it. Baratza sells all the parts at reasonable price and provides instructions. These are designed to be serviced.
We have the Encore and while i was fixing it upgraded the burr to the one from the ESP to get even finer grind perfect for espresso.
The also have the bambino and it's a good value expresso machine. Makes very decent espresso, quickly at a reasonable price.
I am new to espresso gang, but I personally bought a hand crank grinder - TIMEMORE C5 ESP Pro. I am currently pulling pretty good shots from an old breville espresso machine. It does take about 2 minutes of crankin' for 13g of beans.
That said, we have a bambino plus paired with a bratza encore esp and we love it. Thinking of picking this up. Thanks OP

How do your grinder's compare? I'm not into the manual thing.

For roughly that price, I would look for an used or open box DF54 branded MiiCoffee or Turin. The DF grinders are kind of the standard cheap grinder recommendation.
With that said, 1Zpresso makes/uses very good burrs. It would almost certainly give you better results.
I already had an OXO grinder that does okay on its finest setting. I get Peet's Major Dickinson's Dark Roast from Costco per Reddit recommendation.
The steamer can provide hot water on demand which is nice for Americano or a quick cup of tea. No more waiting for the electric kettle to boil. Also steaming milk for a little hot cocoa for the kids is nice.
I should have gotten something like it sooner. Not a shill, I just like practical stuff.
For the price, I am impressed. My wife doesn't like coffee like I do and rolled her eyes when I purchased this. Even she agrees this was one of the most useful buys from last year.

This is the model getting the most attention right now. It is essentially a plastic-bodied alternative to much more expensive grinders like the DF64 or Mazzer.
The Big Draw: It features standard 64mm flat burrs, which are the gold standard for high-end home espresso. Crucially, these burrs are swappable—meaning you can eventually upgrade them to premium SSP burrs.
Performance: Users report it grinds incredibly fast (about 2g/second) and produces grounds consistent enough to "choke" high-end espresso machines, which is rare for a grinder under $200.
The Trade-off: To keep the price low, the exterior is mostly plastic. Reliability is still a bit of a question mark compared to established brands like Baratza or Eureka, and some users have noted the motor's RPM can be inconsistent.

Here is the lowdown on the company itself:
Who They Are
The Parent Company: They are formally known as Changsha Shardor Electrical Appliance Technology Co., Ltd., established in 2018 and headquartered in Hunan, China.
The Business Model: Unlike brands that just slap a logo on a generic product, Shardor acts as both a manufacturer and a distributor. They have a massive production capacity (up to 100,000 units per month) and export to the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
The Strategy: They focus on "omnichannel" sales—primarily Amazon, Walmart, and AliExpress. By cutting out the middleman and using more plastic in their housings, they can offer features (like 64mm flat burrs) at about 40% of the price of Western competitors
