Noob here for home espresso. Been using the Casabrew 3700 for a year now, make a decent shot, my opinion of course. Anyone upgraded from a $100 espresso machine to this have any advice? Worth double the price? Noticeable difference?

I cannot speak to your machine or this one but I do use a more expensive Breville with built in grinder and upgraded from a cheapy sub-$100 machine. I get more consistent coffee from the Breville and it does taste better.

It's all about the grind and quality beans. The espresso machine isn't doing that much work. Look up reviews of the $50 Aldi espresso machine paired with a $1000 grinder. It pulls a pretty good shot.

That said, we have a bambino plus paired with a bratza encore esp and we love it. Thinking of picking this up. Thanks OP

Gotta have a sophisticated palate to tell a difference.
I went down this "best grinder/machine/beans from local roasters" rabbit hole and to me the end result was always pretty much the same as ground grocery store coffee in a $15 Walmart brewer.
I have no doubt that 1% of coffee drinkers can tell a difference just make sure you're one of them. Like when you buy a coffee from a coffee shop and take a sip your eyes roll back and your body stays feeling waves of ecstatic shakes and the world around explodes with fireworks.
Otherwise it's a complete waste of money.

To be honest I can't tell much difference between fancy coffee, but I can tell when it's stale/old beans and ground badly, so that's why I do it lol.

Get on Reddit and go down that rabbit hole.

I've been enjoying mine since picking it up on Black Friday. If you frequent coffee shops it will pay for itself.
I already had an OXO grinder that does okay on its finest setting. I get Peet's Major Dickinson's Dark Roast from Costco per Reddit recommendation.
The steamer can provide hot water on demand which is nice for Americano or a quick cup of tea. No more waiting for the electric kettle to boil. Also steaming milk for a little hot cocoa for the kids is nice.
I should have gotten something like it sooner. Not a shill, I just like practical stuff.

I've had this machine for about 2.5 years and still love it. If you're focused on making espresso, it produces shots that are just as good as my Barista Pro, which costs me more than three times as much.

The milk frothing isn't quite at the same level compared to pro, but at this price point, it's hard to beat. Paired with a good entry-level coffee grinder, you'll be making café-quality drinks at home and won't need to go to Starbucks anymore. Smilie

My wife uses the Baratza vario and it's been great. IT depends what you mean by "reasonably priced" - it is expensive but was rated as a good value. I've seem good reviews for their much cheaper encore line as well. We bought ours in 2009 and have had one repair in the last ~17 years.
