Sir, there are other market dynamics in play since 1994 apart from inflation. One of them being competition...
Many other companies make good boots also. Don't let 1994 dictate your idea of what is good

I paid $109.99 for 1460's in 1994. With inflation, that should be $242.55 in 2026 dollars. Don't let the world of cheap Chinese products calibrate your idea of what quality items should cost.

Keep an eye out at Ross if you're not in a hurry - I often see Docs (limited selection/sizes) at the $60-70 price point. Got the 1460 monos for $60 there a while back.

Too bad the 1461 oxfords made in England are still too much money…

What a deal, if you're looking for style that goes with just about anything the 1461's and 2976's will never go out of style. Buy them for life.

While true, you need to post other options that are a comparable price when making a claim like that.

The cheaper ones are NOT MADE IN ENGLAND, it does not say where they are made while the expensive ones call that out in detail

$139 out of the door for the 2976 Chelsea was hard to beat, I got size 9 and I hope they fit. I've had issues with leather shoes before being uncomfortable and making my feet/knee hurt, hopefully these are good as they say they are!

My eldest son is now wearing my DMs that I purched while stationed in Iceland in 1992. Over time, my arches collapsed making my old shoes/boots too small for me. I wore those things all over Europe for many years.

Thanks I regularly walk right by a Ross and did not know they get Docs on occasion.
