Is there an easy way to tell which models are made in Japan vs elsewhere?

I have had two zojirushis, one made in china and one made in Japan, what what it's worth, I cannot notice any difference between the rice made in either one nor in build quality. The only reason I got the 2nd one is because my wife got a bunch of uncooked rice in the burner plate and turned it on which starting burning and triggered the thermal fuse I am assuming, it worked for 12 years with no issues and the non stick coating on the original rice pot was still perfectly intact

I've had a NS-LAC05 for at least 10 years now and it's been used at least weekly. Made in China as well (most all that aren't induction heating and more advanced are all MIC). Compared to this newer model the only differences are that mine doesn't have a couple of the built-in functions (I'm missing oatmeal, GABA and long grain), but those are easily achieved if desired by recipes on Zojirushi's website and others if desired. It's held up fantastically and works flawlessly. Only "issue" I had with mine was that the backup battery used for the clock died after about 7 years, but never affected performance. Zojirushi solders in the battery unfortunately, but after a couple of years I got bored, unsoldered that dead battery, installed a battery holder and a fresh battery. Back to new. 😆
