I purchased this from Fasteners last September for $108 (incl shipping). But, I'm not happy with it at all, likely my worst Dewalt purchase ever. It has a very weak blower and takes forever to heat up. I contacted support and they replaced it, but the new one is no better. Would not recommend.

Totally agree. I got this a few years ago for $75 on Amazon and it was terrible. I also thought it was defective so I returned it.

Thanks, was on the fence on this one. This is why I love the SD community, honest feedback!

I will be the contrarian here. This thing is great...however, you need to use a bigger battery 5ah minimum as it drains the battery real fast. I have a bootleg one that uses the dewalt batteries and that one sucks because it takes too long to heat up. I do think this is overpriced. The corded one is half the cost and does the same job. I just don't like hulling it around to plug in. I'm indifferent on this for this price.

Do yourself a favor and buy the cheapest $25 heat gun you can find and it will work better than this. Unless you are always heat shrinking very small things in odd spaces often, these things suck. Have a hard time shrinking standard heat shrink.

A heat gun is either the least efficient device possible or the most efficient device possible, depending on how you look at it. There is zero efficiencies to be gained by design because of the way it is. You simply need raw power.
