Please read up on how many The Nines and The Sevens owners have had to replace the internal amp/crossover/computer .

The amp/computer board was $375, then $500 from Klipsch, but now that they are no longer in stock, the price is $700-900 from any dealer that still has them.

If the price falls any lower, people will be buying them just to harvest the boards.

This is a great deal for these speakers. Yes, you can find some good speakers for half the cost, but for these specifically this is a great deal
Side note though, the app kind of sucks. And for whatever reason my speakers will be on occasionally when I go into the basement, despite turning them off days prior.

I know many people are big HUGE mad when these hit under 1,000 and everyone went in 2 feet to buy them. I just dont see a floor for these. Every 50.00 deduction, more and more people jumped in. My price search is set to 450. Never say never.

I don't understand. If I have a pair of these stop working and I now get a new pair, I would throw the old pair away. Why spending time on replacing the amp?
If your speakers stop working during the first 2 years, Klipsch will send you a new amp, and you have to replace it yourself.

That's why there is step by step warranty instructions on replacing those amps on their website:

Yah, I agree with you.
Especially with your point about the sales volume of Klipsch. I don't think people realize how many sets they sell. It is a crazy high number. So much more than most speaker companies such as tiny little Ascend or even a larger hifi co like ELAC. They also sell to a lot of people who are not exactly hifi hobbyists, that can be tough.

Also what is interesting is for $650 many on SD seemingly think this is not a great deal when at full retail at launch for $1500 most folks in the hifi camps from fully subjective to hardcore EAC & ASR folks perceived this as a very nicely priced set in it's particular category for full price.

There are no active/powered 2.0s close to the price of these @$650 available with real wood veneer and consumer friendly features. Someone could grab a set of Kali 8" Lp-8 Studio monitors but those are not better in independently measured frequency response, do not play as loudly at the extreme, do not fit in most living spaces as well visually and are harder to connect to consumer equipment and phones.
100% on all you wrote.

Yep.. I returned my Sevens because besides of some unacceptable issues (hiss @ idle & high idle power consumption), but that also made me realise I'd rather just stick with a separate mini-amp & passives because I didn't want some expensive paper weights if the integrated amp shit the bed just out of warranty.

Using their RP-600M II's powered by a SMSL SA 300 now.
The RP-600M II needs a lot of EQ. They're nothing like the Nines. Maybe like the sevens, but the sevens are mediocre at best.

"Klipsch sells a ton of speakers, so anecdotal reports on the internet are misleading"
I just can't with the irony lol
"Few audio brands are consistent in performance between models, and this goes 10x over for speakers. Who can be relied upon 100%? Probably nobody."
No, passive speakers don't break like ones with a built in amp because they don't have a…? You guessed it, a built in amp. A component that's compromised to fit into the speaker at this price point. So yes you can rely on passive speakers for decades, that's why you have perfectly working speakers from the 80s from any brand. Even new Klipsch budget R passive speakers work fine for years.
Perfectly working speakers form the 80s? Your ignorance is monumental. Tons of crumbling speakers from the 80s. More importantly, tons of terrible frequency response from the 80s. Tons of distortion from the 80s. Tons of terrible directionality from the 80s.
JUST GIVE UP. You and Supermanrob can get a room.

Thanks I will stay with my lsim703
The only measurements of those I can find show climbing frequency response. It's literally the opposite of what most people like.

Oooo big words "directionality" lol. Shock, technology improves after 40 years lol.
There's a reason people seek vintage equipment dumbo. Your Nines don't even last a year and you're defending Klipsch while they're ripping you off by saying "well they're all crap". So weird how you make a set of speakers your whole identity.

FYI, I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread but these speakers are being discontinued. Klipsch has made a Mark II version of the Nines, Sevens and Fives that are shipping sometime in the spring of this year.

Hopefully the new ones have a more reliable amp. The Nines were some of Klipsch's best measuring speakers.

Who can be relied upon 100%? Probably nobody. At best, Revel and Neumann for speakers, but neither make subs that are worth the money.
Wait, why would the quality of Revel and Neumann's subs have any relevance whatsoever to whether their speakers should be considered or not?

Don't tell me---you actually think that it's important to brand-match subs to speakers? Seriously??? OMFG.
