The Dexley is a wide all mesh ergonomic chair that stands out for comfort, especially for taller or larger frames, with better armrests and lumbar support than the Hyken. Long term reports are strong on durability, with chairs still going after several years and Staples warranty support replacing broken parts quickly and for free. The main caveats are a short headrest for people over 6 feet, possible squeaks or armrest cracking over time, and some mesh or seat wear after years of use. It is a solid value at this sale price if the fit works for you.
The deal can stack discounts through new-account signups and coupons, producing lower out-the-door totals.
The chair can qualify for warranty parts replacement after a short call, with free shipping for eligible claims.
The chair can feel comfortable for long daily use, including reports of solid durability since before COVID.
The all-mesh seat design can stay supportive for some owners, with mesh holding up for years before any major failure.
The chair can squeak or creak, including reports of loud squeaking that silicone did not fix.
The headrest can feel too short for taller users, and it may function like a neck rest instead.
The chair can develop armrest cracking over time, including reports of cracked armrests after years of use.
The chair can have reclining lockout or base issues, including reports of an ovaled lockout hole and a cracked star base that scraped floors.

After about 2 years the hole to that stops you from reclining has completely ovaled out so it no longer allows you to lock out the reclining feature. And I'm considered skinny by everyone. Only thing is I do use it 4 days a week at my home office.
Also, it squeaks horribly and yes I've tried using silicone on the areas will no avail.
Head rest is kinda short but don't use it often anyways.
My mesh has been fine. I saw another comment on that.
It has a 5 year warranty I believe but I don't have a paper receipt and office max or depot only keeps digital receipts online do 24 months so I just missed it....
Overall it functions ok other than above.

i use it merely to illustrate what i was looking for on my last 3 ~$150 chairs for my brother;
a. overall scale was euro body types, not small asia, so >300lbs, ~20" wide seat, etc.
b. split back so the back had a separate shoulder and lower back panel, not a band
c. adjustable seat DEPTH which matters for large trunk euro people with shorter legs
d. we tried to avoid gimmicks like foot rests, but these days you can't avoid silliness
e. recent reviews actually match the model being sold - often on amazon they do not.
f. photos that verify the ass seat is mesh, some listing obscure it - then you get foam.
final sad note; if you can afford to wait months, i would wait to buy a chair.
the oil shock we are witnessing will inevitably cause "demand destruction"
soon there will be a lot more inventory than any furniture channel can move.
My thoughts on this chair is that it is ok for the price but I couldn't replicate the hype or the rave about it from the SD community.
Mesh has held up so far, but I mainly sit on a cushion or a folded blanket as a butt pad. I am average, 170 lbs.
The base of the seat creaks/pops/whines a lot, depending on if I lean a little to one side or another, and this happened from day 1. The armrests on my chair, installed correctly, are a slightly different heights (yes, I know they are adjustable). Armrest have held up good, no cracks yet.
My star base cracked and the piston plunged through about 3 inches and it would scrape the floor when I sat on it. Once this happens, the piston is pretty much stuck or welded to the star base. I had to hacksaw + dremel out the plastic base to free the piston which was a huge pain in the buttocks.
If you do end up getting this chair and plan on keeping a while, I would suggest just getting a metal star base from the get go. I also ended up upgrading to some rollerblade style caster wheels for a smoother and quieter roll on my hardwood floor.

Do yourself a favor and purchase some rollerblade style wheels on amazon. Glides smoothly across wood floors. I purchsed another for my wife during a recent sale.
