This foldable AOVOPRO scooter stands out as a strong budget commuter with easy setup, app pairing, and real world speeds that can reach the low 20s in sport mode. The 10 inch tires and dual suspension help soften bumps, and the build quality feels better than expected for the price. The app can also restrict speed, which is useful for younger riders or hilly routes. Main cautions are the inconsistent speed claims, with some reports closer to 15 to 17 mph, plus braking and solid tire handling that feel less reassuring at higher speeds. A practical pick if you value value and adjustability over premium ride feel.
The app can speed restrict the scooter for safer adult or tween use.
The scooter can be increased from a lower default speed up to about 21 mph using the app.
The scooter can cruise around 18 mph without issue for some riders, and uphill may require kicking only on steeper grades.
The scooter has held up for about two years in regular use and has been described as good quality.
The Android app has reportedly had major reliability problems, including failing to launch after updates.
Coupon codes have reportedly expired or stopped working, which can remove expected checkout discounts.
The braking system can feel taxed at higher rider weight and speed, and braking performance may be unacceptable on some units.
Solid airless tires can make turning difficult because the scooter must stay upright, especially above about 10 mph.

Betweent the lack of gyroscopic stability from larger wheels to their inability to handle large gravel chunks, I think it's worthwhile for some safety rehashing in each thread, especially for the noobs.
Understood, thank you sir. I weigh ~145 pounds, so even with 5-6 pounds of groceries, I think I'll be good with this one (and a helmet!).
The only other part I'm thinking through (since I've never had a scooter) is if there are any preferred lock types for e-scooters vs regular bicycles? Meaning, when parking at the grocery store on a bike rack (which I'm assuming the grocery stores will have, haven't looked for them per se). I was thinking of something like the below which has 4 feet of give on the cable, or a non-combo pure steel one like the second below.

In 2000 my barber's head touched grass during the original Razor scooter craze. And by grass, I mean asphalt. Permanently "altered"

I see these all the time, especially at schools, that never have any locks on them. Traditional bikes, sure, but aren't e-bikes/e-scooters mostly secure as far as riding away it with? I guess someone can part it out?

Weird. Would have pulled the trigger otherwise.
I've had two unicycles in the past. It does take some getting used to, but if you can ride a bike, you can find your balance in an hour or two. Much more compact than a scooter and you have your hands free. Highly recommend it. I kept it in the trunk and pulled it out whenever I parked too far and needed to do a quick run.
