I like the idea of a dedicated dirt drill with a side handle. I have used the auger bits on a hammer drill to plant hundreds of bulbs and almost broke my wrist every time I hit a rock or root. Additionally, a hammer drill is not designed to live in the dirt; once dirt gets in the chuck, clutch, and trigger it is impossible to clean and will stay gritty forever.
