I've had this style before and they're destined to fail the way they're designed. The ground salt and pepper eventually gets trapped inside the motor or gears and they end up failing. Happened to 3 different sets - 6 different grinders.

Salt grinders are so goofy, but if you replace the salt with pepper you can have a grider for the kitchen and a grinder for the dinner table for $8 east

Don't waste your time or money. Salt grinder broke the second day we used it. Pepper Brooke within a week. ymmv

This looks exactly like the set I bought about 3 years ago. Use them everyday, love them, and have had zero issues. My assumption is these are cheap knock offs that break. Unfortunate that I might not be able to easily replace them if they do quit

I've had this set and the salt caused it to go bad after 1.5 years. Pepper shaker still going strong. Tried to reach to the company for a replacement with no response. For the price it's decent but don't expect it to last over 2 years.

I agree that these are not that durable(all brands), but for $8 and you have an elderly person or special needs it'll do. Buy 2-3 and save when they do fail.

Received one for Christmas because apparently using a drill isn't acceptable in the kitchen. But it's been working well since, just now about to have to replace the batteries. Seems to work better than the trash sur-la-table I had before it.

I bought a set a while back, but it was such a hassle having to change batteries all the time for something I could easily do with my hands that I tossed them. They would probably be good for an older person with grip issues.

I bought the same set from Temu about seven months ago and they work fantastically. Same price. each one requires six AAA batteries.

There's a lot of 1 star reviews. There's also a lot of variation of product types on same page. ie A lot of complaints on the 6 batteries per shaker being needed and going through them much too fast, but this version linked only uses 4. Pieces falling out, etc.
  1. There are other types available for same price. There is an XL for instance, 7.99. a usb no battery needed set for 9.99, and a usb rechargeable single for 6.99.
