Got a 50% cashback offer for QVC up to $1000 back. Thinking of switch 2 but it's $700 for their kit. If it was $500 no brianer

Not to mention the quad core a53 cpu. I don't think any phone manufacturers sell a phone with a soc like this.

I think people would be buying this just to harvest the minutes.

1500 min = 25 hours.
So $1.00/hour
I haven't thought about $/minute since around 2005.

Value is that it's a cheap way to "park" a phone number

It's cheap but these BLU phones are terrible. I wish tracfone would sell the 24gb annual plan again

Be aware, accordingly to other threads, TF doesn't allow combining active accounts anymore. I'm not sure if they will let you activate directly to an old active account though.

What not just move the number to Google Voice? It's a one-time $20 and the number is safe for good.

You don't activate as a separate line. You choose "keep my number" at activation. This will add this plan to whatever you had left on your old phone. Then you move the service back to your old phone. Then you just give this locked POS to a kid as a media player or something. Maybe use as a trade in for a "any smartphone" deal.

Saw some Tracfone ads on Amazon that said for NEW accounts only.

This is for people who have phone only for emergency (younger kids, older parents, etc).
I usually buy this deal and transfer minutes to my dad's flip phone (he is quite old and not comfortable with smart phone).

He hardly uses 100 minutes in a year. This deal is NOT for regular phone use.
