The good ole days of early noughts when I'd upgrade every year mostly on Dell, paying a couple hundred after selling the old PC, by stacking coupons.

You're better off getting a dell refurb laptop with better specs and lower price.

Depends on your use case. This has a desktop, rather than a laptop processor, and you're not going to find a 24" screen on a laptop. OTOH, it is 6 years old.

Not bad specs for an all in one system. Considering most all in ones are pentium N series chip with 4GB ram and mechanical hard drive. Which by the way is a hopeless mess for windows 11

Consider that upgrading the RAM on this system is trivially easy. The only challenge will be locating DDR4 SO-DIMM memory at a reasonable price. The used market is likely your only hope right now.

Take off the back panel and the two laptop-style (2) SO-DIMM slots are behind a nicely labeled panel:

https://www.dell.com/support/manu...lang=en-us
The Dell Refurbished site (notoriously unreliable) suggests these are all in the 1 x 8GB memory configuration. This could make upgrades trivially easy if you're willing to run two mismatched DIMMs (you might give up some performance). However, be advised that Dell also noted 8GB systems in a two (2) 4GB DIMM configuration.
  • 8 GB, 1 x 8 GB, 2666 MHz for 10th Generation i3/i5 processors, 2933 MHz for 10th Generation i7/i9 processors, 3200 MHz for 11th Generation processors
  • 8 GB, 2 x 4 GB, 2666 MHz for 10th Generation i3/i5 processors, 2933 MHz for 10th Generation i7/i9 processors, 3200 MHz for 11th Generation processors
This system is supported by Dell for up to 64GB of RAM(!) by way of two (2) 32GB SO-DIMMs.

Good luck!
Jon

I'm assuming these are the non-touch versions?

Yes, the CPU in these will have no problem supporting Windows 11. But with only 8GB of RAM, you're probably not going to be too happy about it.
