I can't speak for these shoes but having done the hike years ago light to to medium trail running shoes are IMHO sufficient and recommended over heavier duty hiking boots and these shoes fit the bill.

Men's Under Armour UA Micro G Valsetz Wide (2E) Tactical Boots. These were like $45 on sale last week or so and they are surprisingly fantastic!
My favs are GARMONT TACTICAL T8 NFS for rucks, but the UA's for standing in place are great.

Got it. I see several others recommending trail running shoes for hiking. I prefer the added support of mid-top hiking shoes or boots on longer hikes with significant elevation, but fit should always be the top priority.

On my left foot, the outer bone hurt after like 2 hours standing still.
Keep in mind, my feet are like 3/4E. Just did a 4 mile walk this morning after a long time off and they feel amazing.

The UA's (which are boots) I posted above are amazing for standing or walking. Recommended for standing for long periods. Combined them with thick socks too.
