Majority are 5 star reviews.
You won't find a generator that doesn't have negative reviews. Likely some are legit lemons but the majority of negative reviews are made by the same people who prompted peanut cans to have a warning on the back saying that the canning facility may also have peanut products.
Just knowing it's not returnable, is that true for all generators of this type and size? Or just amazon?
I asked AI the question and it said that it's industry standard for generators that get shipped. once they have fuel in them they count as hazardous substance so they shouldn't want to pay for that ship to back.
of course if you're buying something like this online you're trusting that the reviews will let you know if it's bad, and it makes sense for the company to Simply post fake reviews or incentivize people to put positive reviews within the first 48 Hours of buying it of course not after they've used it.
I'm convinced that I would rather go by a Harbor Freight Predator than most cheap ones online, either that or save up for a Sam's Club or Costco version

Almost all generators have a very limited return window, to prevent people from panic buying before a storm and then returning after the storm when they end up not losing power.
These look like repackaged Powersmart generators. Just from looking at them the oil covers (the side you take off to add oil) is the only difference besides the different paint scheme. Those generators have a little better reviews. BUT this one .. like the post above mentions that it could have been bad gas or 'user error' . All the other review are 5 to 4 stars which is pretty decent..
I have had a lot of different brands of mid / low range generators. It seems they share a lot of the same parts internally. They all generally run very well as long as you use good gas and don't leave gas sitting in them for more than 3 to 9 months.
As long as these don't arrive damaged from shipping you should be good. If you plan on using this 8 hours a day in a food truck... this is probably not the generator for you. If you are a hard core RVer again this is probably not for you(unless you buy 2 - 1 for a backup)
If you need this for tailgating or something that is not going to save your life. GET IT.
double your load capacity for $115 by getting the 4500w version
Looks like a great deal, but be aware that the 4500 watt one is an open frame inverter, so while you'll get the better quality current (generally doesn't matter much except for with super sensitive electronics), it'll be significantly louder than the 2500. If that doesn't matter to you, then the price per watt of the 4500 is a great value.

First off you'll need to buy a wheel kit as that thing is heavy. So count on roughly another 60-75 bucks for that. Also as others have pointed out, that one will be considerably louder.
Also those suitcase generators are super handy. I would own one or two no matter what other generators I owned. So easy to lug around or put in your vehicle for travel. Idk... This seems like a steal of a price on one that's probably as good as any of the other clones out there. Would much prefer dual-fuel. But at this price still a bargain.
Just received mine yesterday, teated it out for a couple of hours. Its a beast, it well built and quiet on eco mode . $199 is a steal. Tried to buy a second one today for my dad ,but it's back to $324 . Stiil a good price, but i am frugal. I am a mechanic and am impressed with the quality of this generator. I understand being concerned about 1 star reviews, but i can tell you most problems faced are operator error. I have helped many people with a faulty generator, that would not start ,run or function properly and 90 percent was user error. They don't understand how to use choke,or good fuel , not pulling start hard enough. If you are knowledgeable or completely read the instructions and familiarize yourself with the controls you will rarely have issues. I am speaking of when new. Alot of other issues arise when storing with fuel for long periods of time . It causes bad fuel or corrosion in the tank and carburetor if you use gas mixed with ethanol. Or regular non ethanol fuels turn to varnish in the fuel line and carburetor. Never store with fuel and most problems are solved . Make sure to add oil to this new generator it hidden behind a panel, read instructions . I get calls for this too, generators usually have a low oil cutoff switch. Low or no oil no start. If no oil cutout switch, people run them till they lockup and complain its a bad unit .
